Apparently VW/Audi don't even sell block heaters anymore.

Well scratch those from the list.

So much stress starting engine at -30. Yes it starts but at what cost? Block heater gets that coolant and then oil warm.

Started my car at -24C air temp yesterday; coolant was +10C.  Block heater was doing its job.

I’m so jealous.  :'(

Couldn’t get one for my 2010 GTI.

But they did sell an inline coolant heater. Was pricy, but worth it. Unfortunately, they don’t install many of them, so dealer was kind of clueless. They ended up breaking the rad fan during install, glued it back together and didn’t even bother to tell me. I found out in the summer when the fan blade came off and you could still see the bead of super glue on the remaining stump.  >:(

^same for my wife's 2011 Tiguan. But I thought they might've offered a stick-on oil pan heater? Memory of that vehicle is very vague as we didn't have it for very long.

Gulp.. here we go

Does it have a block heater?  ;)

Yes! Factory installed Webasto!

That's an inline is it not? Looks much better than that orange thing that went up last week.

Oh, that is awesome! Have always wanted one of those. Absolutely the best solution, but $$$.

Much more than an inline heater. Short video explains it: https://youtube.com/watch?v=Z8z2ZmDtgnY

I would love this vehicle! Just the road trip in this to bring it home from Ontario would be awesome!

But my wife was asking the other day if it’s time to think about replacing the Yukon. She’s worried it might start to get unreliable.  ???

I mean, it’s 13 years old and has 295,000 km on it, so it’s not an unreasonable question. But it’s been damn near perfect so far, and there’s nothing on the horizon I’m keeping an eye on or even concerned about (well, maybe the exhaust. :-X ) And when something does break, any mechanic in any backwoods village can get it back on the road with a hammer, a monkey wrench and a few parts from NAPA.

So, sadly, I don’t think I’ll be replacing it with a 2007 Touareg V10 TDI.  :'(
