My co-worker just added a black 2018 M4 Competition to his fleet.  Manual.  I can confirm it is indeed a sweet ride.

Indy replaced oil pan gasket, selector rod seal, both rear shocks/hardware.

An alignment had to be done because the subframe was removed when the oil pan was dropped.

I don't know how to read alignment charts. Before and after. I assume red is bad, but it can't be...can someone help?

Ugh, we had a new estimator start at work three weeks ago - a very nice lady in her 40's.  Anyway, shortly before starting work for us, she wrote off her previous car, a 2013 Hyundai Accent, and literally the day before coming to work, she picked up a used 2016 Hyundai Tucson.

Anyways, yeah, she's been having problems with it.  In the first week she had it, it went into limp mode, she took it back to the dealership, and they diagnosed it as a faulty knock sensor.  They replaced the sensor, and gave it back to her.  Anyway, this morning, it went back into limp mode on her drive into work.  She was only a few kms from work, so she continued on her way, albeit it at reduced speed.  I'm not sure if hers has the 2.4 Theta, or the 2.0 Nu, but I believe Hyundai has had massive problems with both engines.  She's owned it for three weeks.

I'm advising her to return it to the dealership and try to get all her money back, if she can, then go shopping for a 2015/2016 CRV, or a Rav4, or a CX-5.

Sound advice. These engines are all on borrowed time. The smaller mill in Accent/Rio of that era is reliable though.

Yeah, her Accent had something like 255 000kms on it.  Good little cars.

If she's not hard set on an SUV, while looking at cars for a friend of my daughter, I found that the last-gen Mazda6 seems to evade the current used-car price craze. A mint 49,000 km 2015 GX is listed here for $15k. If you need wheels, look at what the market doesn't want. Said friend ended up with a very clean 2016 Yaris, but had to pay what the car was sold for new - because Montreal street parking. A Yaris is easier to fit in gaps.

She's 'not not' open to a car, BUT, I think she selected the Tucson because, well, it's a CUV that has all the qualities that a modern Manitoba Mom who commutes on the highway would like - a higher seating position, and AWD.

Like, she already went through the whole 'what kind of car do I want' process when shopping for the Tucson, she just ended up with a Hyundai, which may have been the big mistake here.

Cheap used SUV's are a tough go right now for sure. Hopefully she doesn't end up with another lemon: Compass, Equinox, etc

I gave her a list of vehicles to avoid.  Anything from GM, Chrysler/Jeep, Hyundai/Kia.

Is a used Rogue still a reasonable value?

Good News, the Hyundai dealer who sold her the Tucson agreed to take the car back and give her her money back.  They're sending a flatbed to pick up the car at our office.

I'm pointing her in this direction for a replacement:  https://www.thecarstore.ca/vehicles/2016/mazda/cx-5/winnipeg/mb/55284204/?sale_class=used

Great news and not a bad option to get the Mazda.  Reliability aside I'd sure rather drive the CX-5, too.

We'll see if she likes it.  In my experience, I'll point someone in a certain direction that makes sense to me, and then, usually once they've consulted with their significant others over the weekend, they'll go in a completely different direction.  I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up in a used Equinox, but we shall see.

Maybe you should have pointed her to the Equinox then  :P

The CX-5 is sold.  They have a couple of 2015 CR-V Tourings that in her budget, though.

The 2.4NA is a known good engine, and the CVT in these is one of the reliable ones.

Much of that dealer's inventory is from out of province.  Be extra cautious.

2015 CRVs are a disaster.  Honda's fixed never worked.  This issue is widely known in the business.  We refused to take them in on trade regardless.

Yeah, if you actually knew about it  :rofl2:   The issue was so bad Honda was forced to make a video about it.  None of the Honda TBSs fixed the issue.
