I’m not up on the nitty-gritty details on that era Mustang…here’s a pic. What is it?

That my friend is a mustang GT with a stripe package.  Still a nice car, but definitely not a Boss 302.

The Line-X thing is great for trucks that see a lot of abuse to the exterior paint from rocks, sand, etc...Western trucks, trucks that see a lot of gravel road use, etc. The problem is Line-X does nothing to prevent rusting from the inside out, which in the Salt provinces, is the biggest issue. Rocker panels, door bottoms, etc are still going to rot from the inside out just like they always have.
Line-X, then regular oil spray treatments would be the best way to protect a truck you really wanted to keep together.

Agreed . I keep telling people if you are going to keep a vehicle long term spray it. The cost over the long term is actually cheaper than the body work that will be required if not done.
My old truck has been treated many times. I park it on the road,it drips. After a few months no evidence of drops on the road. ;D

Some more cosmetic work done on the BMW:
- replaced weather strips at the top of the windshield and around rear window - all went well except that in the front I found some broken paint and some superficial rust lines in the channel in both corners where the paint was broken. Had to clean the rust and touch up the paint (I used Rust Check rust paint for that and it blended in pretty well).
- cleaned up (again) the headlights, this time with the 3M kit which worked better than Meguier's IMO still not 100% but I can definitely live with the result (I think some hazing is inside). Still need to make another try as I screwed up a little the clear coat application on one side
- had the steering wheel refinished (was showing some excessive wear on the top side); while not perfect it looks good and passable.

The bummer is that I have to re-paint the front bumper as the clear coat peeled off on a large area when I removed the masking tape around the left headlight. This was unplanned and it will set me back $600... :banghead:

Still quite a bit of work left but I kind of lost some enthusiasm.... but I need/want to get to the end of job.

This is your ride, man.  Should be so clean you could eat off the dash.

Put some kms on SW2 but it is a shame the A/C quit few years ago. In 2020 compressor failure/leak was diagnosed but a fix would exceed car value then, sure unless a 21 years old car price raise as the used market did lately... no, not really :P

We grab extra dog poop bags from the dispensers whenever we’re out for a walk. They make great garbage bags for the car. I just tuck it between the passenger seat and the centre console. It’s handy there, and inconspicuous.

They’re not big, but it’s a perfect size for the car IMO. Fill it up with a few used tissues, maybe a gum wrapper and some used eyeglass wipes, then toss it and start a new one.

Could always try a can RedTek with sealant if the issue is a leaky compressor. My T/A had a slightly leaking compressor, when I got it, so I charged it with RedTek and used at least one can of the sealant. AC blew cold after that for another 4-years until finally the compressor totally died and I swapped in a good used one I had (plus new dryer, orifice tube, etc).

Exactly. I've never really understood why vehicles don't have something like that standard, and probably why some people toss their trash out the window.

Looks like a nice one

I'd say because they are inconsiderate dirty pigs that have no respect for things. Cars have had ashtrays yet people still think outside their car is where you flick the ashes and butts.

Not having a garbage available when you need it is not a reason to litter. EVER.
