The Corolla's OEM horn was on its way out, so I had it replaced with Fiamm's El Grande hi-lo horns.

This 22 second video accurately portrays the difference in sound.

I pity the fool that cuts me off now!

Sounds much better. Is it also louder?

Yes, but that's likely because the oem horn was beginning to weaken.

This may be the only Italian part in your 'rolla.  ;D

Started a spring interior cleaning of the Pilot today at work.  My underground parking has access to wash bay and a power outlet, so I loaded up the trunk today with my cleaning supplies and a shop-vac.  I'm about half done, beats working on it at night.  Not a bad way to spend my lunch hour.

Anybody know what the stuff of these wheels is called? Or how it’s fixed?

You don't fix it.

That's the clear coat coming off....usually from salt/corrosion.

Yeah, clear coat is peeling and the alloy is corroding. If you care, there are shops that specialize in rim refinishing that can take care of it. Or, if you have a lot of time on your hands you can carefully strip the clear yourself, polish out the corrosion (usually requires a bit of wet sanding) and then re-clear coat. In this case, it'd be tricky to get a perfect DIY job because of the  machined finish, which once you polish off, you won't be able to replicate again.

Just sand it smooth and plasti dip it.  That’s what I would do.

You've obviously never dealt with automotive wheel clear coat....

That's what I was thinking.  Same thing is happening on the Subaru too.  If this is purely cosmetic, we will just live with it.  I don't really care, my wife is more concerned than I am.  If this doesn't cause any structural/safety issues with the wheel, maybe her stock wheels will become winter use only, and we will get some aftermarket rims that will never see snow/salt.

Speaking of wheels, I'm starting to find the 17's that come stock on the CX-5 GS a little small.  I realize they contribute to a better ride, than say, 19's, but it's not like the '19's that come with the GT and Signature have tiny little rubber bands of sidewall - they still have a half decent amount of sidewall.

I think I'm going to look for a used set of 19" CX-5 rims, then buy a new set of All-Seasons to wrap them with.  I'll use the existing 17's as my winter wheels, and wrap them in Blizzaks in the fall.

My 2015 Genesis has 18" wheels standard.  My 2019 has 19". The ride is smoother in the 2015 - not a dramatic difference, but one I can notice. And that's just a 1" difference.

Oh, this is totally motivated by looks - I find the existing 17's a little 'cheap' looking on an otherwise gorgeously styled vehicle.  One of the best attributes of the CX-5 is its styling, and I'd like the wheels to complement, not detract from that.  I'm just starting to find the 17's a little 'frumpy' looking.

I agree, they do look a bit frumpy compared to the 19's. My buddy has them on his & it just doesn't compliment the car well.

I've become expert at dodging them in the past month.

This won't happen until the fall/winter, anyway.  I'll use up the Yokohama All seasons that are on there this summer, then put Blizzaks on the 17's, and get the 19's and new tires over the winter ready for spring.
