Been tinkering with a few things over the last couple weeks.
Burnt a tank of gas in the Firebird, gave it a good wash and wax and installed a dash pad overlay...The dash pads on these are a known issue and self destruct without warning. The original one lasted probably 16-17 years, and I had a collection of 4 good ones I had picked up over the years. In the last 3-4 years I've installed new ones and they've broken within a few months/year each time....So I am down to my last good replacement and don't wanna waste it, lol.
So I found someone in Florida that was making these carpeted overlays. I generally hate this kinda thing, but it beats looking at a smashed dash pad, and it also dramatically cuts down on glare on the windshield which is a nice bonus.
Got the Morgan running...little messing with the points in the distributor and some tinkering with the carb and now it starts and runs great. Still no brake or clutch hydraulics, so that'll be next. Now that it's running we moved it inside and took some of the trim and other pieces off to give them a proper cleaning/polish.
I've also been playing with the Camaro. Burnt a tank and filled it with some fresh gas, probably the first time in 15 years it's had a full tank of fresh stuff. The fuel level sending unit is acting wonky, so I've been diagnosing that trying to avoid having to pull the tank. Today I gave it a nice wash and wax too. No photos cuz it's raining now...
