Nothing wrong with a bit of harmless tinkering.

Happy tinkering indeed. That V8 is gonna sound good with all that induction freedom.

Put new air filters and cabin filter in the Jag. Was easier than I thought. Air filters were filthy.

Also, detailed it a little post wash. Super plush microfiber and Maguires Gold Class is an excellent combo for my ceramic coat. Perhaps best detailer I have ever used. No streaking at all, no residue. Just clean.

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Grabbed a parts car, since I'm about to tackle installation of air conditioning into the '90 Camry, which was never optioned with it. This was cheap enough that I can and will make every dollar back by just handing it to the scrapyard once I strip the components I need, and a few bits and bobs.

The headlights/taillights are in mint condition, as is the interior, and the engine is perfect as the car only has 153,000km on it. Has the super rare floor mats with the "CAMRY" embroidery, in perfect shape.

Unfortunately the body is completely gone, the brake pads/rotors and lines are totally shot, the suspension is clunking something fierce, and has a major exhaust leak. The air conditioning, however, blows ice cold, so will make my life a ton easier.

Kind of sad that this thing won't ever be saved, as someone did once love it, but at least parts will live on in my Kirby.

I don't remember the last time since I've seen this generation of Camry on the road.

Sounds a little more complicated than my taillight transplant.  lol

I hope it goes well for you.

Same, except mine. But it still surprises me that my minty 90 Camry AllTrac gets more positive attention and thumbs-ups on the road than the Vantage and S2000 combined. Maybe it’s the historic plate or the very obviously loved condition of the car, but people LOVE that little anonymous sedan.

If I see somebody driving an old, minty 'regular' car, I'll give them a thumbs up far more often than somebody driving something expensive, rare, or a muscle car.  My reasoning is that most 'regular' cars are just appliances, so the fact that somebody went to the trouble to either preserve it, or restore it, means more to me.  There's a guy in my neighbourhood who drives an old 2nd gen 4Runner that's just in beautiful shape. And stock.  It hasn't been 'ruined' by putting an huge lift and massive tires on it, which is what usually happens with old 4x4's.  No, this thing is stock.  Which means its special, because it's hard to find unmodified examples of those vehicles.

 Costco is a 45 min drive  :'(

You would think Chevy would install a battery that would last longer than 10-1/2 years  ::)  :rofl2:

Yes, and last week the jobs were in town, so only 6 km a day

Little bit of that too, but sitting and short trips really kills a battery that may have previously been hanging on. Just my experience.

^ Reminds me that I had to boost the Frontier last weekend.  We went for takeout in the City and sat by the waterfront listening to the radio and with the cabin lights on while we were eating.  Truck wouldn't start afterward.  Luckily I had the freshly charged booster pack in the back and that started it easily.  We've been doing mostly short trips in the Frontier for months now so I figured bring the booster pack along was a good idea.

Side note: My battery-booster is 8 years old and had not been charged up in over a year.  Took almost 7 full days to get to full charge.
