I got the new tires put on the truck.  Huh...gotta be 2 years thinking yeah, there's something wrong with the rear end...when that blows it's gonna be expensive...IDGAF.  >:(

Turns out new tires fixed the rear diff.  And to think the old ones still have 5-6 or so 32nds left on them.  Seemed a waste to toss them, but obviously something was wrong with at least one of them.  Now it drives like a new truck again.  ;D I should've GAF long time ago.

#2 - bought the driveshaft for the Fusion to make it AWD again...figured I'd do it at home, the install that is.  Got the car all up on ramps...and nope.  Not me.  I'm thinking the place that replaced my transfer case can put it on.  They owe me at least that.  Some pics for fun.  Since I was down there.

Floors and rockers look good still.

The real ugly doesn't start 'til you get to the rear.

The entire exhaust & suspension looks like it's been sitting in Bay of Fundy...and I'm nowhere near an ocean.

Rear bumper

I'm pretty sure it would be better if my garage had a fan that sucked out the winter humidity.  And salty roads don't help...pretty damn ugly though.  Then again it is almost 10 yrs old and everything else considered, it's in remarkable shape everywhere else.  As a bonus it still works like it did from day one.

Should have had that thing Krowned 10 years ago . It would have looked like new underneath. You are a good candidate for Krown because you keep your vehicles for  a long time.

Didn't know what Krown was 'til this place, thought it was an ON thing.  A dry garage would help as much probably.  Doors to the garage might not freeze shut then either.  :P  Should've installed a bathroom fan years ago, too.

^ My dad has one of those 'whirlybird' vent things on this garage - does seem to help with the ventilation. I avoid parking daily driver's in the garage, and never bring a car into the garage wet. Limited circulation in the garage means it takes forever for inner panels and such to dry out.

Got the Sonoma and Firebird stored away for the season. Kinda early maybe, probably could've stretch it another couple weeks, but it's kinda nice to just have them 'away' and off my mind. Mrs.Firm took her Firebird on a good (~1 hour) run on the local backroads, first time she's driven it any length since having our son over 2-years ago....Came back all smiles, definitely rekindled the joy of driving for her. It does drive very well, and compared to the Escalade she's used to it handles like a damn racecar.

Crappy impromptu pic, but w/e.

I took a couple shots of the Sonoma on a final run as well.

He's a cute little fella!  Great hair.

I washed and waxed the Fusion, F150, and Mustang...even though it will sit outside and it's supposed to rain on Wed, it needed it.  Of course the kid's happy 'cause he's in Arkansouth Dakota or somewhere and won't be home for 3 weeks this time 'round.  Car still looks good.

I tried to see if I could get a good pic showing before and after Black Hole, but the camera lies or your own eyes can't see as well as the camera.

Damn, he got all the life out of those pads.

BW - the Mustang does look good, not a common spec around here at least. I'd look into removing that dead 'clear' paint protector.

Hand washed the MDX and got a coat of sealant on it. Dressed the tires. I probably should’ve cleaned the paint up a bit prior to sealing but I’m losing the desire for this sort of thing over the last couple years.  :-\

What's with that matte finish on the hood? I swear paint protection looks worse than actual paint with a few small chips.

I put the snows on both cars. Sick of doing in in the rain and snow. Was actually enjoyable this weekend.

If you have any suggestions on how to get 2 yr old plasti-dip off I’m sure he’d be happy to hear them. He put it on the a-pillars his 2nd winter to protect them from the snow cover. The next year he thought he’d do the front of the hood too. Only we thinks he might have gone too thin as it’s darn near impossible to get off (by peeling) so he figured he’d just leave it. Not like he has a lot of free time anyway. It sits in the corner most of the time. I doubt he’s put 1000 ok on it in the last 3-4 months.  Still - open to tips!!  ;D

Varsol should dissolve the plasti-dip, and won't hurt the paint underneath. Try in an inconspicuous spot first, but I am pretty sure it'll work with a little elbow grease. Wax the area after for some protection because the varsol will remove any wax that's on there now.
