Broke my power antenna!

How did you manage that?
Being an idiot, naturally.

Car was full of pollen. Listening to the radio in the car wash. I forgot to shut it off to retract the antenna.  Arm thing snapped to top off the antenna.

FFS.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Ahhh power antennae. The unnecessary complexity, the fragile assembly... how I don't miss them.

Crap, the "new" 1990 Camry has one...

I had a spare kicking around...but from a Toyota.

No joke...the Lexus one seems to be of higher quality in the way it telescopes. The Toyota one seems more sloppy, loose.

Didn't expect that.

But yea, needless...though still campy cool to see it go up or retract. Oddly there's also antenna in the glass, though I have no idea for what.

I destroyed the one in my '93 850 the same way.  ::)

Replaced the air and cabin filters and a reverse light.  The cabin filter was filthy after two years.  Maybe I should replace yearly.

I doubt it because I'm still the driver.   ;D :-X

Is that foam between the pleats, or is it really that packed with dirt?  :o

And was the filter white when installed? Some have carbon in them and are actually grey right out of the box.

Still, two years is plenty. I just switched mine after six months, and think it was probably a waste. Once a year is good enough for me, I think.

That was a leaf piece stuck in the pleat.  The new filter is almost white, close to the tissue.

I see the leaf now. I was actually referring to the solid mass of grey between all the pleats. Maybe just hard to make out the picture on my phone.

Put new brakes on the SC. The entire rotor was coated...boy oh boy that first stop removing the coating felt like there as grease on the pads!

All black rotors sure looked cool before the pads touched them!

Make sure you do a proper break-in procedure on those...Some full coated rotors have a tendency to contaminate pads and create hard spots if not properly broken-in.

Some good weather finally so I've been making the most of it....

Took the Jag out for a nice long drive with Mrs.Firm and Firm Jr. on Friday evening. Love the quad pipes on this:

Spent the day today working on the MGB and one of the e-types; interior stuff in both cases.

And finally got the Trans Am outta winter hibernation - weather and the pandemic meant I didn't have a whole lot of motivation to get it going until now. Fired on the first crank after sitting since October, no issues, got right onto the highway (427) from my grandmother's place and cruised down the Gardner to the waterfront and back - only about a 45 minute round trip thanks to covid traffic. Impressed that the AC was still blowing cold...compressor was leaking 3-4 years ago, I bought a new one but never put it on because the red-tek stop leak I put in the system seemed to be holding....years later, still good.

Link to the A/C product you used, please.. the AC in the Civic doesn't work, and it's the first thing I want to try.  Do you have to do a recharge before or after using it?

The stop leak is a re-charge...sorta. You probably need the recharge kit with the charging hose:
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/red-tek-a-c-refrigerant-recharge-kit-0146129p.html#srp

What I do is connect the hose and see where the pressure is at, if there's nothing, and the compressor isn't coming on, then put one can of the refrigerant in. IF the compressor starts to cycle, then you're in business, if not, then you've got a problem somewhere else...

Once you've got the compressor cycling, then install the stop leak...there are two versions, I can't remember which I used, I'd probably spend the few $ and get the pro-seal though:
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/red-tek-aerosol-leak-stop-can-4-z-0146121p.html#srp

Once that's in, if the pressure is still on the low side, then add the second can of refrigerant...or part of it until you're getting stable pressures in the 'green' area on the gauge.

^That's a pretty half assed instruction, but there are a ton of videos and stuff out there on this. It's not hard, I've done it dozens of times (usually for co-workers and stuff) so if you need help PM me.

^^^ Thanks so much.  I knew about the recharge, and have watched vids on it, but didn't know about the stop leak product.

I was about to post a question about AC in the "Technical Questions" section, but you guys seemed to answer some of it.  The C30 blows cols for a bit, but then it stops - would a re-seal and re-charge solve this?

Did some headlight polishing. Nissan came out nice. Same with the boy's Mazda3.

The Acura's were terrible.

But came out real nice.
