I always used to do that.......before I moved to Germany. Now, I don't have access to a hose, so I take the car to the car wash the night before the swap so at least the outside face is clean.

But yes, it's good practice since when you swap back over, you'll have clean wheels !
I also have a chalk pen and mark which corner the tire was on so I rotate them when I swap them back.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I do that too except with a sticky note  :) . Since my car is front-drive it tends to chew up the front tires faster.

Spent last evening in the garage detailing my wife's car inside and out.  I'm pretty well a waterless wash convert now.  So convenient and don't have to deal with water endlessly bleeding out of every crevice.  Also dug the winters out of storage and cleaned them up as well.  Probably wait until the last minute to mount those as usual.    :-\

That car looks so much better than the groupers that followed.

I even like the colour.  ;D

Haha, it’s downright subtle compared to the rest of the current class.

I put the winter tires on the GTI today. I'd only driven it 3,000 km since I put the summers on in June.  :'(

And I gave it an oil change, too. That was only 5,000 km since I did the last one, but figured I'd rather do it now than sometime in January when it's minus 30.  :-\

Changed the battery in the e-tron's smart fob. The car actually has graphics to tell you it's low. I RTFM'd, expecting some secret handshake reset procedure, because FGC, but no - just a swap of the 2032 cell. Lasted 2 years, first smart key I own, first ever battery replacement in a fob.

That's it?

Wonder why so little?

I put the winter tires on the truck a couple of days ago, and also called the dealership to book it in for its 2nd service (but 1st oil change).

...so little battery life? I dunno, maybe smart keys work harder (ie transmit more) than regular fobs. oem Battery was a Panasonic. The 2nd fob, less used, is still doing fine.

I made S&S sauce for my lunch today.  I'm a sucker for the sweet things in life...on the way to work.  Mmmmm...smells like candy...wonder what that sweet smell is.

FACK!!!!  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Fack!

Dog dammit!! Fecking container on its side, and it doesn't seal for shi#.  Leaking vinegar and soy sauce and dissolved brown sugar soaking into the passenger seat.  Fack fack fack.

So, that's what I did today.  Won't help much cleaning it when I get home as it'll long be dry by then.   Think I might just soak it in some PB Leather Stuff. Layer it on extra thick and juicy.
Maybe it won't be as bad as I think, at least not until it's humid again outside.

Time to trade it in anyway. It has been nothing but trouble. :stick:

My passenger seat is full of Dorito crumbs after I picked up the empty bag from Sunday's funeral round-trip road trip to the Eastern Townships wrong-way round...   :shake:

I know, right?  But it's worthless.  Unfortunately.  And what could you replace perfection with?

It has snowed three times already but now we are ready for winter with tire swap overs done.

These are blue still from the old Civic. Oh well.

These are freshly painted. We'll see how long that lasts.

It's tire swap time here too.  I went with some OEM steel wheels from Kijiji.

I drained and filled the transmission too.  It should be good for a couple of years now.

I was planning on getting my swap done but some unplanned surgery (apendicitis  ::)) means I have to get a shop to do it. Thankfully I booked while in hospital but I only got a slot on Nov 11.

Tucked away Francesca till the spring. Winter work on her starts next week: getting valve covers and plenum powdercoated Alfa Red, and re-plating the chrome intake runners. Then re-straightening the muffler section of the exhaust and possibly painting the calipers red...because racecar!
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.
