Replaced my telescoping antenna that I stupidly broke the day I got my SC430....

Fortunately, a 2 minute job....but did need 2 people to do it.

FWIW, if anyone needs an antenna, motor, etc.  I sourced mine from here:  https://www.theantennasource.com

Good couple of days, trying to soak in the last long weekend of summer...

Replaced some sketchy looking vacuum lines on the XKR and then fitted the rear-facing baby seat....Luckily Mrs.Firm is short because the front passenger seat needs to be all the way forward, but it works. Took it for a nice drive to Mrs.Firm's favorite bakery in Oakville and then along lakeshore to the weekly car show at the CTC on the Queensway. Nice night and probably the most time I've spent driving it since bringing it home.

This morning I tackled the spark plugs and wires on the Escalade. 258K and I don't know when they were done, so I wanted to do them for peace of mind. The plugs that came out looked pretty decent, but the wires were heat baked and there was some corrosion on the terminals, so glad I did it. Not particularly difficult, but probably 70% of the time was spent wrestling to get the old wires off the old plugs.

I also took the wiper arms off the Escalade and painted them, between the sun damage and stone chips there were looking a little tired.

Then I had bought this set of MGB wheels and tires for $200 off kijiji a couple weeks ago to go on the Chartreuse car since the tires on it are all terrible, mismatched and not holding air. So I got these out and gave them a good cleanup...$200 was a steal for these with nearly new tires and rust free rims

Nice wheels! Still working on getting my set!  ;)

Anyway yesterday I removed my naVan spoiler and whilst doing it I lost one of the nuts inside the boot lid, as it INSIDE it. Sooo.. once I took it off and realised it had 11 bolts holding it on.. = 11 bolt holes + a locating hole I thought hmm maybe ill leave it on for now.. So today while I was mucking around trying to fix the air con that refuses to work, I decided to take off the boot lid to get the damn nut out. It wasnt noisy or anything, I just knew it was in there and it got to me! So off came the boot lid, out came the nut then all back together. Wish I hadnt touched it in the first place but eh lesson learnt and now I know how to do it

Cleaned the motorbike after some back road adventures and thought I should clean the dust off the Innocenti as well.

Thanks. The battery came from a Lada Niva years ago. Works well.

The red paint looks like it looks pretty good.  Time to splurge on a can of flat black for the hood.  It'll look like a new car.

Southern Alberta...where a lawn is optional.

The pic also makes me glad I don't live in a city...(shivers), to have neighbours that close!  :P Yuck.

Oops...forgot.  I washed it (last night) and today...I drove to work with the sunroof open.  It was 17°!!  Should be a cooker (for two days and then back to fecking rain again, farmers can't catch a break this year  >:().

The hood has already been painted. It was just wet there still. Paint decent and body is quite good. The rest of it not so much. We have grass on the other side but no point on that side.

I did the brakes on the Tercel. New front rotors and pads as well as drums and shoes on the back. Drum brakes stink. Just need to adjust them.

Place in order new winter shoes https://www.nokiantires.com/winter-tires/nokian-hakkapeliitta-r3/  for my 2019 Volt (#3) with my proximity neighbour mechanic.
Scheduled garage appointment Saturday Nov 9th. to install them.

Next year will be winter rims & tpms turn, I choose to split the bill over 2 winters season.

finally used haggerty insurance and had the pacer towed in to the dealership. was overheating and my dumb ass just looked at the overflow reservoir and saw coolant... whoops! ah well. thing was super low. so low it wouldn't even draw from the tank.

all seems good. had it in the air and took a closer look under it... it's not too solid, but still worth keeping "safe" for a few bucks... should still be fun for years to come with a few smart spends.

I will say that the haggerty roadside was great. flatbed tow, soft straps, people who seemed to care... I didn't even have to be there. I just left the keys in the car with a note and they took care of it.

Bought it some prezzies - new air filter, new cabin air filter, and new H11 bulbs.

I thought I'd have to get new wheels and tires for winter. Not sure where my mind was. The 225/55R17 snows from the Passat are close enough to the 22545R18s that I'm probably fine.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

New rear wheel bearing for the Tercel. Sort of fell apart when I did the brakes. Went back together fine but for less than $15 it was worth putting in a new one.

One of the Toyotas I had had the outer bearing mounted in the drum. Was that the case with the Tercel? I forget. Never liked that design.
