Left for work early, ran it through the wand wash, dried it...went to work with a shiny clean car.  Still pretty in rich man's white after all these years.

Now I'm sitting here, and it's too hot.   :P Sweating at my desk... ::)

Ugh, I was washing the Pilot on the weekend and found some rust and bubbling paint just above the license plate on the rear hatch.  Wouldn't you know the rust/corrosion warranty expired in October.  Hoping it's not too expensive of a fix.

Rust and corrosion wouldn't even cover that.  It's for perforation only.

Well, the wife put the first scar on the truck.  Twice.  First, on her way out of the driveway yesterday she nudged the neighbour's garbage can with the bumper...no visible mark that I could see.

Then, when she was parking at the dentist, she made contact with the parked car next to her.  It made a tiny, tiny little scratch on the fender just in front of the driverside rear wheel.  It's really not noticeable, and doesn't even look like it went through the entire clear coat.  But still.

She can finally lay off me for that time when I grazed a parked car with the corner of our van last summer.  We are now even.

How's the other car?

I wasn't there, but probably nothing.  There's literally almost no mark on the truck.

Anyway, that's the last time she drives it for a little while...2 incidents in the same trip...

The hood on my 2008 Civic started rusting a year after I got it.

It seems like Honda's had terrible paint back then, and it would seem like they haven't changed the formula.

Yep, I’ve never owned a car with rust on it before!

I swear I didn’t notice anything in the fall when I gave it a good wax.

Rust and corrosion wouldn't even cover that.  It's for perforation only.

Bubbling paint usually indicates rust from the inside out or perforation.
If it's surface rust then  that wouldn't be covered .
A picture of the area would indicate for sure. ;D

But the perforation warranty only covers if the rust actually goes all the way through.

Strip down to your shorts.  Your coworkers won't mind.

And if anyone has anything to say about it, I can call them out for harassing me!  You can't harass me...either it's shorts and topless...or I am too hot.

Think it'll fly?  Good thing it's tomorrow now...don't have to test it.  And no Arthur, no mankini for me.  Borat can pull it off, me, not so much.  :-X :hurl: :P

Otherwise, came to say, 198 km and I'll hit the big 200k on the Fusion.  Yikes.  Wonder what I should do to it...fluid flush?  I've heard/read that can actually be bad for the trans if nothing's wrong.  Then again...can it really hurt?  Lots of (mis)information on the internet.  I don't think it calls for anything 'til 240,000 km.
Maybe spark plugs.  But it still runs fine.
Coolant maybe...maybe??
Starter needs a good lube job, keeps hanging up a bit on start up and jingle jangle jingles.  Or maybe just splurge and buy a new starter.  Still can't think I've spent anywhere close to $1000 in mechanical repairs on this thing.
Hopefully I can get to the brakes soon, but might as well wait 'til after I hit the big 2.0.

It is supposed to go to the body shop in the next while to get that wee bit of rust fixed.  He figured a few hundred (vs the local big guy quoting $1300+ish  :o).  I don't need the whole 1/4 painted, just keep it simple.  The factory clear coat is so perfectly smooth I don't want all of it re-sprayed only to have orange peel.  >:( My little shop will do what I want, and it'll cost a shitton less.

I washed it, then photographed it with a rainbow in the background.  The 2006 taillights look great.

Yeah, that is so much better.  The reverse lights on the 2010 look like an afterthought.

For me...I figured I'd post the proof.  Did actually hit the Big 200,000.  Seems like only yesterday it was under...sigh...

Yeah, that's 4 yrs and a little bit from now probably.  Can't see why it wouldn't make it with minimal anything to spend on it.  It did just hit the worthless metric...so WTF, keep it pretty, drive it 'til it dies or I do. (Hopefully I last longer than it does :P I'd love to get another car...depressing to think this might be the last one... :'()
