Oil/filter change (every 5,000km), and had it hand washed/interior cleaned. Running brand new winter tires; General Altimax Arctic 12. It also puked a battery recently so put a new Interstate in.

How are they?  I'm disappointed they don't make them in the size the Highlander needs.

They are not the sexiest tire but it is for a CUV
I have same brand on my truck for 2 years 20,000 km
Smooth bump free ride  :rofl2:
They are pretty quiet and never had problem in snow , and being by the lake we don't get a lot of snow , and good on ice
Only driven about 15 km with RX
I have gone to H rated instead of V on the RX, it appears a bit smooth , and quieter then the OEM Michelin tires, they had 95,000 km , they would be OK for at least another 10,000 if it was spring instead of winter coming
They are rated for 115,000 km
It was around $1200 all in ( dam 19" tires) , from Tirecraft, did get the insurance, flat repair, and free rotation
but no  nitrogen  :o  :rofl2:
If you sign up for their app you get $20 off
Costco did not have Defenders in my size , Tirecraft is only 10 mins away, Costco is 45 mins away

Went to start my car after work last night, clutch in and heard a faint pop or snapping sound. Suddenly transmission is very difficult to get in gear and I have to rev match to change gears. Similar thing happpened a few years ago and it ended up being the clutch master cylinder. I suspect something similar this time. Dropped it off at a local indy shop this morning and turns out part of the clutch pedal assembly snapped! Its a $300+ part and is backordered. Luckily they are able to weld it up and I'm back on thr road for under $90.

Is that a semi-permanent fix, or just something to tide you over until the new part comes in?

Supposed to be permanent, time will tell I guess.

Why not? We have a major oil company as an advertiser, so oil/filter costs me very little. It's a small price to pay for peace of mind on a high mileage engine (268,000km now and runs as good as new). I'm also planning to do a timing belt and water pump change next month.

It is so easy to forget how old that car is now as it still looks amazing and kind of current.

"Why not?" is not a reason to do needless oil changes.  What does it actually do for the engine?
I could see if this car gets little use, but what a PITA it would be to do every 2-3 months.

^^^Meanwhile, Ron has been recommending to me that once my powertrain warranty is up, to switch the good Amsoil and extend my service intervals to 24 000kms.

I was the last person I thought would go to extended intervals. I was super skeptical so I did a series of oil analysis kits at increasingly longer intervals.

Using Signature oil and the AMSOIL filter really works. 20K and the oil is in good shape. I was surprised.

The off-the-shelf Toyota stuff is 16K IIRC.

You'll easily get 24K from Amsoil....and it can go up to 40K!    :o
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...
