Well I would never get the GT, too many gadgets.  But it would be nice to see, how they compare to the other car manufacturers that offer these gadgets as well.  Yes too bad about the automatic, but we have read a few reviews with the manual, it be interesting to see how you like the automatic, compared to a CVT.....Is the tester equipped with All Seasons?  What make of tires?

Fuel economy is what we'll all be looking for here, relative to class. Guy I work with recently bought a CX-5 GT with the 2.5 and he sees 5.8 l/100km on the trip computer at a steady 120km/h. Looking foward to pump-to-pump fuel econ numbers!

Skyactiv is great and all, but from other reviews, with winter tires on, drivving conditions (this won't be all highway driven). I am guessing, the average will be around 7.5L/100km.

I am pump to pump guy, and never really follow the trip computer, mostly because my current cars don't have it, the Garmin GPS is pretty close.

White leather?  Oh boy - get your leather cleaning kit out.  I have beige in my Acura and it does need quite a lot of cleaning.

What you don’t get is a choice of engine, but this isn’t a horrible thing as Mazda offers their 2.5L four-cylinder SkyActiv engine in the Mazda6, with a diesel option coming soon.

I really hate when people use 'coming soon' as it has no real meaning. Tomorrow, next month, next year, next decade....When is soon?

November-December is what I was told by the manager of my Mazda dealer.

And I really hate when people use the word "HATE" for such minor things.  It's a little over the top don't you think....Maybe "dislike", or can't stand.

I sat in the new Mazda6 this past weekend at the dealer. Guess it depends on one's height but I found ingress and egress challenging for myself at 6'1. This is not inherent to the Mazda 6 but an issue with most new cars for me, considering the heavily tapered roof lines of new cars. I find that I'm being forced to drive SUV's with higher and squarer roofs for comfort, although I do like the look of the new Mazda 6.

Maybe it has more to do with you, some people can be the same height, but one may have longer legs, or a bigger torso.  Can't say that I have that problem, but my neighbour is about 6'2 and he finds his knees hit the lower dash of certain cars.  So he sticks with his Jeep Commander...

I hate the fact that I can't stand waiting for the diesel version of this car!

I'd get the GS.  It doesn't have all the gadgets and has traditional controls, which are much simpler and less distracting to operate.  I can't believe that the systems interface receives text meassages. How distracting is that?  Also the GS sticks to all metallic look trim rather than mixing it with fake wood.  Kinda tacky.

Wing, was that 2011 RX-8 new? My local Mazda dealer recently published an ad for a half-dozen m.y. 2011 Mazda6's ... shows you just how popular the 2nd gen was  ::)  They regularly had year-old new RX-8s at serious discounts.

It's a heck of a lot less distracting than looking at your phone which is what most drivers do. I think it's a useful feature.

Here in NB it's illegal to have a phone in your hand while driving, but people do it anyway.  Common sense isn't very common these days.  Does this system allow one to to text back?  If so, it would be no less distracting than texting on a phone, I wouldn't think.  I just don't get why anyone would want to use a phone or text while driving.  I carry a phone for emergencies, but I sure as heck don't want to be on call in my vehicle.  I think some people are addicted to the things.

Not sure if it allows texting back but it would be very neat to integrate Siri voice recognition (for iPhone users). Some companies have said they will be doing this.
