i watched Dunkirk...meh.

it's not that it was bad in any way, i guess it just wasn't what i was expecting.

it's essentially a 10 minute sequence stretched into a 106 minute movie showing that sequence many times from different viewpoints...it can get difficult to follow at times if you don't know that going into it.

So don't watch it with your wife unless you like 106 minutes stretching to 126 or more.  (speaking from experience)

Agree on Dunkirk, I got bored partway through

Watched 'Longshot', entertaining

Seems like there is nothing Theron can't do

Saw Green Book on the weekend.  Thoroughly enjoyed it!  Great chemistry between those two.

Terrific film.

Yes, from the synopsis, I wasn't expecting much.  But then the wife and I watched it, and were thoroughly entertained the entire time.

We saw it in the theatre (last year) and enjoyed every minute of it.

Yeah, we did as well. I was expecting something else, but the movie blew my expectations away. Aragorn was awesome and so was the other guy.
Lighten up Francis.....

i saw Atomic Blonde a couple of weeks ago...she is great in that movie...she's essentially a female action star, and she really gives it all...there's a bit of a girl on girl love scene the movie could have done without (it doesn't need it), but overall very entertaining.

Picked up Le Chant du Loup last week and watched it last night, a thriller/action film that débuted earlier this year but I just never got around to the cinéma. Was more of a thriller than I'd expected based on the theatrical trailer, ended up watching the whole thing till past midnight. A disheartening ending, but that's life.  :-\

Trailer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATGDQpH-gOM

Now just digesting the 1h30 of extra features....

I saw it and liked it, up until the last part, which is completely unrealistic.

Also, Omar Sy is better at comedies. I didn't think his performance was good in this movie.
Agreed. His main role in Knock was better.

I'm sorry...are you actually criticizing a girl on girl scene with Charlize Theron?!?!?!?!?

i know, i know...i just didn't find that it was really necessary in the movie...the movie was packed with intense action, and she does such a fantastic job, and the "love scene" is somewhat tied into the plot a bit...i just found it unnecessary and a little cheezy...like they're trying to appeal to horny 18 year old males and cover up an otherwise mediocre story/plot...the movie is plenty strong enough without it...i won't knock the movie for having it, just that it wasn't needed.

I watched The Purge (2013) for the first time this week-end. Not a great movie, but mildly entertaining.

The TV show on Prime (1 season so far) is better.

They did an awesome job at choosing period-authentic Eastern European cars in that film.
