For you cat lovers..

Just watched "Kedi", one of 2017s top documentaries. Beautifully shot in Istanbul, it's a documentary about the relationship with the people of the city and the street cats.

Definitely worth watching...

The Big Short

Probably my favourite film of 2015. Watched it so many times now. Love the style in which it's shot and the screenplay is just superb. Not seen Vice yet but I'd me amazed if it where anywhere near as good.

Vice is absolutely excellent.....enjoyed every bit of it. From the acting, to the direction, awesome all around.

I watched “The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley" by Alex Gibney.  It's the story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos.

It's very, very well done..as is the case for most of his documentaries.

I couldn't help but think of another Silicon Valley huckster while I watched.  It's interesting...these people use the same catch-phrases, micro-manage the same, say the same stuff about their critics and competitors, etc.  Lots of similarities.

Overall....definitely worth watching.

saw the 60 minutes thing about her the other day...a millennial, who accomplished nothing, but had everyone pouring praise on her for years...i've seen a hundred people like her over the years...many of them were upper management in my previous job...a few of us used to joke and play executive bingo during meetings...you have a bingo card full of all the catch phrases and check them off when they are said.

When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

Clichéd Japanese themed fantasy with Keano Reaves. The few good ideas are swamped by a rising tide of mediocrity as the film drags towards its predictable conclusion.

Yes, I unfortunately watched that a number years ago. As I remember, lots of beer did not lessen the pain of viewing.

Rewatched Fury and Rush. Still like both.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

A Prayer Before Dawn (2017)

Good prison flick - based on a true story. 7/10.

I just watched some Netflix movies:

The boy who harnessed the wind, pretty good

Triple Frontier, not the movie of the year, but entertaining enough. Good actors and lots of action.

Mudbound, very good.

Mudbound was excellent.

Triple Frontier was a mixed bag. Holy hell was Ben Affleck bad.  It’s like they hired a big piece of lumber to say his lines. Oscar Isaac was good though and the rest of the cast gelled well.  They had over two hours of movie, they could have developed the baddie a little more. But overall it was fine.
