Charged: The Eduardo Garcia Story (2017)
Watched it this morning after work. And I ate dinner while watching it because you said I shouldn't!  :)

It was OK...I get the feeling you liked it more than I did.

Haha @ eating dinner.

Sounds like I did like it more. I'm not saying it is the best film or even best survival film, just a good one. Nice to see somebody pull their life together after such a horrible accident and other issues he had.

I do wonder if he sued somebody though because all those hospital stays and surgeries would have cost a lot of money.

Oh for sure the utility got sued I bet.

Yes, he got his life together...for now. I kinda get the sense he's going to go off the rails again.

Just watched Split after work to be up to date before I go and see Glass tomorrow. McAvoy is superb in that one, I'm really impressed by how good he was. And the movie itself isn't bad at all either, not sure what score I would give it but a 7 or 8 out of 10 I think.

Nice! I met him in Canmore when he and Sonnie Trotter were working on The Diamond on Mt. Louis.  Super humble guy.

Did watch Cruise last night. A great cheesy car movie with a paper thin plot. 80s nostalgia is very strong, and the car jargon is on point except one line at the end of the movie (watch it and you will know).

Noticed that this movie has been added to Netflix. Added it to my list.

Finally got around to watching Blaze last night and wasn't disappointed.  Dark content though and certainly not the best family movie but brilliantly depicted the passion behind the music.  My wife almost gave up and left after the first few scenes as she doesn't like dark movies.  She stuck it out and ended up appreciating it for what it was.  Interesting that the only well known actors (to me anyways) played bit roles.

Polar (2019)

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4139588/

The world's top assassin, Duncan Vizla, is settling into retirement when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head to head with an army of younger killers.

Nothing new to see here. Your standard bad guys/girls against the one good (?) guy who is indestructible. Then you guessed it, plot twist to make you go, oh ya.

Lots of guns, blood, violence, and a little bit of nudity which looks great in glorious 4K/Dolby Vision, thanks Netflix.

Average rating, watch if you are bored and want to see lots of people killed.

I generally hate musicals, but took a chance on 'The Greatest Showman' after hearing what a sleeper hit it's been after being savaged critically.

https://www.eonline.com/ca/news/987446/how-the-greatest-showman-defied-bad-reviews-and-an-even-worse-start-to-become-an-unlikely-cult-classic

Turned out we really enjoyed it too. Moves along quickly, great music and performances, and lots of cool visual details. Good happy movie on a cold night

Bohemian Rhapsody - What more is there to say? This movie is great! Add in an awesome sound mix where you will want to keep turning it up louder and louder until you can't hear yourself singing along. Must watch. For those with a proper system, ENJOY!

I'm really hoping Stan & Ollie gets a showing in Winnipeg.

Same here for Ottawa!

Saw it tonight, loved it.  Go see it.

I watched it yesterday.  It brought back a lot of wonderful musical memories, but as a movie I found it rather full of cheesy cliches.

I liked it, but being a rabid Queen fan from the era (I literally wore out my News of the World album twice and had to keep replacing it) some of the historical inaccuracies were a little jarring to me. However, that would only be true of a small percentage of viewers.

I'd give it an 8/10.

Active Measures.

Impressive how many key figures were able to be interviewed for this documentary.
