I like watching movies at Christmastime but not Christmas movies.  It's about the only time a year that I'll binge watch movies.

My 6 year old was completely riveted by this movie.  She usually doesn't watch an entire move from beginning to end without getting distracted or bored at some point, but this one held her attention the entire time.

She must be a Mopar girl ;)

She was a big fan of our Grand Caravan (TV on the ceiling for the win).  Can minivans count as Mopars? So, yes?

I was talking about the Challenger that was in the movie.

Yes, I also enjoyed that part.  Isn't the Challenger a halo vehicle for all the schmucks who drive Grand Caravans but are pretending to drive Hellcats (like myself)?

We watched "Below her Mouth" on the movie channel. Thank gawd we didn't pay theater prices. It's billed as a steamy character study about a semi straight girl that engages in a relationship with a gay woman.

The women are gorgeous and there is some steamy bits, but otherwise holy hell is it bad.

For a much better take on sexual awakening and frustration see the well written, amazingly well acted, and tearful movie "Carol."

it is a porn with a slightly thicker plot than usual, that is all really - yes the lesbian sex scenes are hot, but by god the script is horrible...and I know the actors can do better in other work

For a better coming of age lesbian movie, see Blue Is the Warmest Colour. Much, much better in every way. And the women are even more gorgeous...
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I bought Reel Rock 12, just for the film on Maureen Beck, the rest was great too.

Too funny I saw them first. Was a full house tonight. I'm thinking you will easily enjoy all 4 films. We also liked that all 4 were very different from each other.

First time we've done this one as we picked it over doing Banff Festival this year. Will have to investigate previous shows.

Other than a few classics, I don't like Christmas movies. We used to watch the animated short of Raymond Briggs' The Snowman, but mostly we liked to share books when my daughter was little. The Polar Express was a tradition. The movie was okay, the book is a treasured piece of children's literature.

The Snowman is a truly well crafted and yes, magical bit of animation.  One of my favourites.  However, if tradition is under discussion, we have a ritual to watch:

Will Vinton's Claymation Christmas
&
Merry Christmas Mr. Bean

as regulars.

Plus, we might the original animated Grinch and maybe a special movie or two as they happen along.

Other than that, we go to the theatres to catch a blockbuster or two, plus something just for the two of us.  Oh yeah, bingeing on TV (Netflix, Movie Network, HBO) is also on the menu as desired.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum.    -    John Nada (played by Roddy Piper) in "They Live"

That movie only holds up because of nostalgia. If it was released today no one would give it a second watch.

Ready player one... Had no expectations and found it enjoyable enough for what it was. Also has some of the best surround sound action scenes I have ever heard. Sounded great on my 6.0 system

Rmemeber the brief push for the 5.0 format in DVD Audio back in the late 90s?  This is where all five channels were encoded with full bass content and required five full range speakers to reprodipuce, and was audio only. That didn't last long.  ::). Never heard of 6.0 though.

Part way through The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.   I'm a big Cohen Brothers fan and this one is not disappointing.
