Moderation.  I eat crappy things, just not much of it.  I eat fatty foods, but keep the amounts reasonable.  I eat a lot of carbs, but I'm super active and burn a lot of it, and on off days I throttle back.

Not much alcohol, but a beer or cider here and there is a nice treat.

I'm making a giant "Dagwood" sandwich for tomorrow that is as big as my leg and stuffed with processed meats and cheese, but I'm running a long distance in the mountains and will enjoy having it for eating breaks.  I won't eat something like that normally, but my estimated caloric burn for tomorrow's activity is ~4000.

yep moderation works, and know your intake vs. what you burn

chronometer.com is free and an invaluable tool, I use it every day for a food and exercise diary
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Calories in are not equal to calories out. There are a lot of carb rich foods that have tons of empty calories that will get you over your daily needs without making you feel full. It will also be harder to burn. It also depends what time of day you are eating carb rich foods.

FFS.

Diet fads come and go.

Calories in and out and eat whole foods and lots of fruit and veggies. Be active. Everything in moderation.

Not rocket science.

Absolutely!  Highly processed food is bad in so many ways.

For those who want to look a little further into healthy habits, "intermittent fasting" is a great way to get healthier. I follow the lean-gains fasting method (16/8), been doing it since July last year, so almost a year now, and it makes me feel great. I highly recommend it.

Keto is pretty much what we used to call Atkins.

As for how to eat, different things work for different people.  For me, high protein, moderate fat, and minimizing simple carbs and sugars, while relying on fruit, veggies, and high-fibre options as carb sources is what works best to lose unwanted weight while building/maintaining muscle.  If I start to consume processed sugars, white bread, white rice, regular pasta, and white potatoes on a regular basis, I pack on the unwanted pounds pretty quickly.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Saw a Quiet Place tonight.  Well done.  As others have said, suspenseful but not scary.  Felt like a mash-up of Stranger Things (the monsters look like the demigorgon), Signs, I am Legend, and Alien.

Just watched Operation Odessa. Fantastic!

If you found the "Cocaine Cowboys" documentaries interesting, you'll love this. It's done even better. The movie score playing throughout matched the movie perfectly. Everything about this was well done. Very well done.

And it's a bonkers story about 3 buddies (a Russian, a Florida playboy and a member of the Cali cartel) who try to sell a military Russian submarine to the Cali cartel to smuggle coke.

Highly recommend!

Watched Wind River..written directed by Taylor Sheridan (wrote Sicario, Hell or High Water).

Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen.

I quite liked it.

Would recommend.

My DVD for the movie Burn Out (2018, France) showed up in the post late last week, so got around to watching it this weekend.

Perhaps the storyline a bit predictable, but I can't say no to a motorcycle movie !

Doesn't almost everything on Netflix have a high rating?
