Love Sicario!  Great movie...love Del Toro

Del Toro was great - he was one scary mofo!  Great casting, great movie.  Some of the scenes are so memorable.  The incident in traffic waiting to cross the border was simple in so many ways, but really conveyed the tension of such an altercation and how the professionally trained soldiers used strategy and firepower to overwhelm their adversaries easily, but brutally.  The long lead up was amazing.

Del Toro killing the family - holy crap.  Completely believable given his character development.

Brolin is fantastic as this casual flip-flop wearing spook that will also casually and skillfully empty an automatic rifle into you without a second thought - and grin widely as Del Toro's devil does the even nastier jobs.

Blunt plays the patsy so well.  A solid cop that they only slightly underestimated, but she completely overestimates what her moral stand is worth.  She never gets that they're using her because of her impeccable track record, not in spite of it, until she has to choose between dying or signing the statement.
You knew early on Del Toro was scary...the way he woke up from the nightmare on the plane.

Another aspect that was interesting was the dirty Mexican cop. Dirty, cause he's in the drug trade, taking money, etc. But then they show him as a regular family man, good father, etc. Likely took the dirty money to help his family.
But he and his family paid a steep price..
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

If you're looking for a "mainstream" porn movie, then it fits the bill.

Thanks for the recommendation!  I will have to suggest it the Missus, on date night!   ;D

Thanks for the spoiler alert with Sicario!

Thanks for the spoiler alert with Sicario!

It came out in 2015.  The statute of limitations for spoilers has expired.   ;D

Oh ok,  I probably got it mixed up another movie that has a similar plot.  I guess I should watch it again to prepare for Sicario 2.

After all the hype I was looking forward to watching Baby Driver.  Man, was I disappointed.

Watched A Dog's Purpose...I'm an idiot, I think I smiled almost all the way through.  Had to crawl on the floor and give the dog a big hug after it was over. I hope he wasn't offended, me spooning him.  :o What's even funnier, he lay there staring at the TV from start to finish, maybe had a short nap in between, but my kid said he stared at the screen for almost the whole movie.  I think he liked it too.  ;D

Dogs are meant to be cuddled.  I loved that film, sappy as it was.

I did not know the creators of the comic were polyamorous, wow way ahead of the time  :)

I've been tempted to watch it again as it was an excellent movie but there's so much stuff I haven't seen that I've been prioritizing.

Went to two movies this weekend. First was Molly's Game which I thought was excellent. The story is super compelling and Idris Elba and Jessica Chastain are both great.

Also saw The Post. I'm not the biggest Spielberg fan but I thought this was really well done too. Good story and a great cast.

The Post is high up on my list of movies to watch.  Dont know much about Molly's Game, but since my wife has told me that she could "watch Idris Elba read a book for hours", I'm sure she'd be interested in watching that too.  :D

I tend to go see big blockbusters with lots of special effects in the theatres.  I prefer watching movies like Spotlight and The Post at home.

With some exceptions, those are the movies I don't watch at all.  :)

I like my fair share of Marvel/DC stuff.  Black Panther looks awesome!
