If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

It's uncanny and unreal the skills he possess.

And for this guy (and many in the film), it's not a hobby...it's work and a way of life.

I am a fan of Adam Driver [he was great in Girls]. Looking forward to him in this.

Watched ‘Atomic Blonde’ and ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’

Enjoyed both, but very different movies.

Atomic is Charlize playing her Mad Max character in what seemed in my memory a very good recreation of the grimy end of European communism

Whereas Valerian was an unexpected visual feast
Valerian looked great but was a bad movie

Atomic Blonde was a good time, enjoyed it. The soundtrack, though I loved, was way too high in the mix - overpowering.

The soundtrack was about 3-4 songs out of date.  Most of the  music was from early to mid '80s.  Film was set in '88-'89.  I lived in Germany during that period.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Not quite the "latest movies" but worthy revisits nonetheless.

I re-watched DeadPool last week.  Gets better (and funnier) with each watching.

A few days later, Mrs. Random and I caught The Incredibles on TV.  Another film that has staying power.  We laughed at the jokes even more than the first time we saw it.

I rewatched Sicario. Love that movie, and there's a sequel coming out this year (minus Emily Blunt).

Watched American Made last week. Was very enjoyable, though I'd like to know how much of it was based in reality.

I like the filters, you can focus on certain countries, directors, decade.

Criterion is an amazing resource for specialty or otherwise hard to find films on both DVD and Blu-ray.  Some (if not most) will not be cheap but well worth it if you are a collector.

Not all the films are obscure European "art films" either.  I'll have to check but I think my copy of RoboCop is a Criterion release.

We watched Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.  Loved it and highly recommend seeing it.

The missus and I finally watched "Below Her Mouth."  Some friends described it as an erotic movie with a real plot and real acting, etc.  Well, those friends don't know a plot or acting from their a$$es.  The women are gorgeous, the sex is well done, believable (even highly explicit, more akin to high-brow porn), and filmed beautifully.  The rest of the movie is a crap filled train wreck.

If you're looking for a "mainstream" porn movie, then it fits the bill.  If you're actually looking for a story of love between two women, then see the movie "Carol" with Kate Blanchette and Rooney Mara, which is a fantastic film with a great script and terrific acting.

agreed completely

or I would recommend instead "Blue is the Warmest Colour" better acting better story etc.

too bad, because Natalie Krill is a struggling Canadian actress. I don't think this movie did her any favours.

Love Sicario!  Great movie...love Del Toro

Del Toro was great - he was one scary mofo!  Great casting, great movie.  Some of the scenes are so memorable.  The incident in traffic waiting to cross the border was simple in so many ways, but really conveyed the tension of such an altercation and how the professionally trained soldiers used strategy and firepower to overwhelm their adversaries easily, but brutally.  The long lead up was amazing.

Del Toro killing the family - holy crap.  Completely believable given his character development.

Brolin is fantastic as this casual flip-flop wearing spook that will also casually and skillfully empty an automatic rifle into you without a second thought - and grin widely as Del Toro's devil does the even nastier jobs.

Blunt plays the patsy so well.  A solid cop that they only slightly underestimated, but she completely overestimates what her moral stand is worth.  She never gets that they're using her because of her impeccable track record, not in spite of it, until she has to choose between dying or signing the statement.
