I go to theaters once in a blue moon just to see how my home system compares.  Last time was a couple of years ago and was quite happy that the sound in my own system sounds much better.  The big screen is nice though.  I wanted to go see the new Blade Runner when it was playing but couldn't find anybody that wanted to go.  :P

Watched Kingsman : the Golden Circle on the plane (15h35 flight......pretty long eh?). Thought it was *meh* at best. Felt the first one was better.

I thought it was predictable and crap. First one was much better.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Had some time on the plane last week, watched it as well. Enjoyed it, but much like the Guardians of the Galaxy 2, not as much as the first.

Watched part of Dunkirk, but quit part way through as nothing seemed to be happening. Sort of an art house war film

Enjoyed 'The Hitmans Bodyguard' the most, fun buddy movie

Take: 177 million USD
Budget: 30 million USD

interesting, thought the opposite
Thought Dunkirk was fantastic, at times I was holding my breath.
Hitman's Bodyguard was merely OK for me, felt like Safe House 2, best part was Salma Hayek

I hear ya on Dunkirk.  For whatever reason, I just couldn't get into it.  I also watched it on a plane going to Barbados so perhaps I should give it a second viewing at home on my HT.   But I really felt underwhelmed by it in general though.

I felt the same way.  Watched it last week with my wife.  It was good, but not great!  I expected more from Nolan.

I love movies in the theater, so we go a lot.

Same.

I tend to go see big blockbusters with lots of special effects in the theatres.  I prefer watching movies like Spotlight and The Post at home.

Somewhat agree.  If it's some random drama, I can watch that at home, doesn't make much difference.  But a good action movie, sci-fi, I would like to see in the theater.   But quite often, scheduling conflicts, time and budget interfere.  When the kids are older I guess.

I'm watching a bad horror movie. It's so bad...but funny! Has all the cliches..nubile nude "teens" at a camp, mysterious killer with crazy backstory....some funny lines. Doesn't take itself too seriously...and Michael Madsen driving around in a Smart Car. LOL

Called Lumberjack Man.

Went to see "I, Tonya" tonight.  Was quite good.  If half of what they present is true, she got royally facked ocer.

Watch Shape of water http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5580390/
It reminded me of a  b rated movie from the 50's like you find on the  comet  channel

Watch  IT, the only interesting thing was to see the parts that was filmed  around Port Hope

Watched "Fences" with Denzel Washington, and Viola Davis.  Oscar & Golden Globe wins and nominations.  Guess it wasn't for me.  Had to turn it off after 20 minutes.

I don't think I lasted much longer than a half an hour either.
I don't mind a lot of dialogue in movies, but I got really tired of hearing Washington, who I think is a great actor) go on and on and on....

Exactly.  Especially the scene in the backyard where they are drinking (vodka I guess).  I have never thought of Denzel Washington as great.  Just good.

I thought DW was awesome in Flight.  Training Day, amazing.  I actually liked him in The Equalizer - the script was just okay, but Denzel pulled it off.  He's AWESOME in "Man on fire."  Sleeper movie with Washington at his best.

Training Day is great, one of the few movies I'll rewatch on occasion.

Speaking of rewatching, I watched Spotlight again. It's an excellent movie.

I agree.  But thats 4-6 great movies.  Then I think of somebody like Tom Hanks, that's a great actor.   Most of his movies are great.

I think Washington has made quite a few really good movies - solid performances.  One's I liked:

Unstoppable
Equalizer
American Gangster
The Great Debaters
Inside Man
Flight
Man on Fire
Training Day
The Hurricane
Philadelphia
Malcolm X
