Watched Logan Lucky yesterday and couldn't stop laughing.  If you like Ocean's 11, heist movies, or anything by the Coen brothers, this is a fabulous combination of all three (and it has an automotive component).

During Black Friday week.  I was looking at Box Sets.  And saw Star Trek the Next Generation, for $79.99.  My brother came over on the weekend, and he saw it.  Showed him an episode with the big difference of HD vs SD, some shows you notice more.  He asked me to order it for him.  Just looked now, $141.99!  I asked him, and he said no.

New Fiat Documentary
« Reply #2422 on: December 12, 2017, 06:31:35 pm »
Last night, after watching a painful HBO documentary, they previewed their upcoming new documentary about Fiat head Gianni Agnelli titled "Agnelli".  It's due to premiere on the 18th.

Question is....can ChasX wait that long?   ;D

SO EXCITED
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I watched Dunkirk on the plane coming back from Barbados, and I honestly didn't care for it too much.  I'm a huge fan of war movies, but for someone reason that I can't really pinpoint, I just didn't care for it.

The kid and I went to the tiny theater in Banff, and saw "Lady Bird."  For it's genre, the "coming of age" movie, it's amazing.  It's written and directed by Greta Gerwig and she's got some real talent when it comes to making movies.  I think my daughter only engaged on the "small scale" commentary consisting of scenes with the mother/daughter characters, which were fantastic.  Us older folks connect more with the "world view" of the movie about becoming an adult, altering our relationships with our children, and the struggles associated with that.

If you don't like these types of movies, don't bother going.  If you like them, this is one of the best I've seen.

funny, when I watched it I thought it was a fresh way to tell a war story. It just told the story of some young lads trying to survive, no stupid love story or squad drama etc. to get in the way of telling the story of the harrowing event. I enjoyed it immensely.

And the search continues for a movie that makes me scared shitless...

This one had some interesting, multidimensional horror like Hellraiser and Event Horizon. Some creepy visualizations.

Does anyone find the trailer scary?

Looks like a gorefest - not particularly scary, just shock value.

PS - I love Event Horizon.  Sci-Fi horror, like it and the Alien franchise (except "Covenant" - ugh) is awesome.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Event Horizon is a guilty pleasure of mine - I am fascinated by the idea that a ship going through a wormhole actually goes to hell...

Cool.  I saw "Life" and thought it was fantastic.  I will watch "Bad Batch" just to see Jason Momoa run around shirtless.   ;D

Just watched "Voyeur", a documentary about a guy who bought a motel for the sole reason of  spying on his guests...something he did for decades.

Was pretty interesting!

That guy was "interesting" to say the least - OMG.  What a freak, and too bad he can't be prosecuted for it, but if that was so, he'd never have come forward as he did.

Yea but he didn't feel creepy if you know what I mean?  Like he didn't give off that "perv" vibe.

I remember thinking while I was watching this....how terrible everything would be to watch for the voyeur while waiting for something sexual to happen.  Like waiting and watching and seeing boring, tedious, everyday human activity in the hopes of catching something sexual.  Personally, I couldn't stand it.  That alone would be reason enough to never want to be a voyeur for the avg. person IMO.  Watching humans behave "normally" (which often includes gross or poor behavior) would be a terribly off putting thing to see for hours on end.  The cons far outweigh the pros in this situation IMO.

Watched the documentary "Agnelli" this morning.  Basically a puff piece about just another douchey, rich, scion of industry.

Personally, I think the story about his grandfather, the actual founder of Fiat would have been far, far more interesting.  From the founding of the company, it's growth and ultimately him being accused of colluding in WW2.  I think I'd have rather watched something about that.
