Thats a good list, but every time a sports car list is made they should just make the computer default to Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S. Lets face it, something fun and cheap, those are your options, otherwise you get stuck with some weaksauce fwd commuter car with wings and fancy wheels.
Lighten up Francis.....

hold up there, cowboy...

...should a vehicle that owners were told not to drive because of fuel leaks that cause fires, and an engine that consumer reports notes that cannot reach its EPA ratings really be awarded COTY status?  Isn't a large portion of the scoring based on quality and fuel economy?

I call shananagans.

Its a Ford, engine fires are minor. For a domestic thats not bad if all there is wrong with it in the first few years of production is a small chance of playing the Human Torch the home game.

Cant argue with these choices, the Accord is back.  I would see myself driving the Santa Fe, top looker of the bunch, even if the JDP rating are quite poor. ;)

Exactly my thoughts on the Escape. IMO such picks will hurt credibility of AJAC, if they had any before, that is. It is irresponsible at the least to call cars "the best new" if they have unproven reliability, overstated FE and as a result the lucky owners who were misguided by such reporting will be on the hook for thousands of dollars in lowered resale values, let alone the time wasted at the dealers' on recalls.
