Transparent tanks FTW!  lol

Those are so ugly..lol. Have to buy alot of stickers to cover them.

Theres a local guy with a DRZ (??) with a massive plastic tank, looks terrible. I get the function, but gees man, a gauge seems like a much better idea.

Gauges are for wimps.  Real men don't need no stinkin' gauges!  :rofl2:

I'm old enough to remember when clear and white motocross tanks used to turn a horrible shade of yellow after a couple of years.

Seems like they figured out how to prevent that.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

The Bonnie had only a speedo.  No gas, gear indicator, or even tach.  The speedo was attached to a cable and caused the needle to jump all over the place at speed.  "Am I going 120?  110?  130?"  *shrug*   The trip odometer needed to be wound back to zero every time it was reset.  I loved the simplicity of it.

Two different things. A gauge doesn't help with range. With my big tank I can squeeze almost 400kms if I take it easy and even then I sometimes have to carry gas.

I have no issue with the size, but they could make it body color, with a gauge and it wouldn't look like a weird growth, thats all.

Ahh ok makes sense.  That being said I hate dark tanks with no gauge. Oxidized clear tank (to gross yellow) FTW.

So what's so complicated about a fuel gauge?  I mean, would you have really enjoyed that bike less with a fuel gauge on it?  Did the fuel gauge on your Z900 bother you in some way?  Inquiring minds want to know!  ;)

I'll go on record saying I want a decently accurate speedo as well.  I can't insist on unqualified accuracy, as my speedo reads 5km/hr fast.  :-[

I'd prefer a fuel gauge over not having one. Not having one wouldn't stop me from buying a bike I otherwise liked. Same with a tachometer.

yea...only my sport bikes had a tach...the cruisers didn't really need it...you can "feel" when you need to shift, and it's not the kind of bike you wind out anyway (the lumpy V-Twins were more about relaxed smooth TQ than high revving HP...i find you do get more info in today's bikes though...all the basics, plus the extras (trip odo, fuel gauge, temp, etc) and many now get into some connectivity (Phone, media, NAV, etc).
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

It's not like I would've enjoyed the bike any less if it had had a tach and/or fuel gauge, but without the information being put in front of you, you had to be more in tune with the bike -- feeling / hearing the revs, resetting the odo and planning out trips / watching distances.

Are Triumph bikes any good?

i think they are pretty sweet (although i've never owned one)...i think a few in here have and they've been pretty solid bikes though...most video reviews seem quite good and many own or have owned Triumphs in the past with overall good experiences.

The Speed Twin is facking awesome. WAY more sporting capability than its laid-back looks suggest.  If I ever own a retro bike, I can't think what I would choose over this one.

And yes - it has a fuel gauge - because duh, it's 2021.  :rofl2:

Look up the RocketMan YouTube channel - he just traded in his Trident for a Speed Twin in that dark grey.

Nah, they're rubbish.

Triumph Bonneville T120 is my favorite out of their lineups, it touches my tralala
