It has nothing to do with terrain. Just saying that having legs bent at +90 degrees for hours on end is not comfortable and this would be the biggest drawback to be ing considering a fun around the world bike.
Rider triangles have generally been shrinking over the years. I suspect this is intentional by the manufacturers as they look to broaden their market and appeal. Lowering the CG helps handlig but for anyone over 6' it makes for a squishy ride. I have spent a fortune on bar riders, taller seats and lowering pegs
