Crazy that's even possible. Has to be a few of these things driving down the street with the blinker going

Nah, at that level they are self cancelling.  :P

the Honda CT125 (Trail 125) isn't for everyone (we don't even get it in Canada, although they do sell it in the US) looks like a fun little runabout bike...a dealer in NZ contact a local VLogger to take one for a day to throw everything he could at it for a review and told him to be honest about it...he accepted:

The only drawback is that seat to footpeg distance. Looks like it is sized for a small person maybe 5'? Can't see standing for long distances?

it's not a hardcore off roader...i don't think you're really meant to stand on it.

the reviews i've seen were riders who were about 6' tall and had no issues with it.

No what I am saying is you may have no choice to stand since having you leg bent over 90 degrees all day may not be fun. As a short distance runabout no problem.

it's more softroader than anything else...like a decent CUV...not trying to give a Wrangler a run for its money.

It has nothing to do with terrain. Just saying that having legs bent at +90 degrees for hours on end is not comfortable and this would be the biggest drawback to be ing considering a fun around the world bike.

Rider triangles have generally been shrinking over the years. I suspect this is intentional by the manufacturers as they look to broaden their market and appeal. Lowering the CG helps handlig but for anyone over 6' it makes for a squishy ride.  I have spent a fortune on bar riders, taller seats and lowering pegs  ;D

Aren't those supposed to be the Toyota Helix of the motorcycle world?  So you could probably go around the world and over some pretty sketchy terrain without much issue.

Yes for sure. Light weight and fool proff. Just not too comfortable. You don't need a KTM 1290 and $5k worth of Klim gear.  ;D

i'm sure you possibly could do it...i'm just saying that's likely not what it's intended for...i think if you have a campsite/cottage with a community around it (small town, etc), it would make a fun little vehicle for doing your running around on.

Those things have probably seen more gnarly situations than most adventure bikes.

Ya!

When you think about it...absolutely amazing what these have seen!

With over 100 million sold, surely one of the world's all time greatest vehicles.

That Tenere is going to be closer to $17k once the suspension is addressed and the required do-dads are bolted on. Still on the short list once this supply madness passes. Best to find a low hour covid creampuff once we get back to normal.

A fellow rider just picked up a 2017 Husqvarna FE501 with some extras for $8500. The bike had 29 hours on it. In 4 years....

Everyone requires proper suspension setup. If you fall far outside (20lb?) outside of the 170-175lb fully equipped rider then you need stiffer or softer springs minimum.

I landed at couple Motodealers yesterday... :P   Wanted to go sit on some bikes to see what would be NExt.  unfortunatly the Moto Guzzi/Indian dealer was close.

Tenere $14,000out the door.  there was a XSR900 Demo $11,000, a lot of bike for te price.

Agreed, that XSR900 is a great bike. Two different bikes though, I wouldn't get a Tenere unless I was going off-road.
