Depends what the definition of "Adventure" is to you.   Dirtbiking is more like sport to me.  Buddy of mine bought a new KLR650 in Calgary and drove it to the very south point of South America and back... boring bike, amazing adventure.. ;D

Those mid  level Adventure bike seams to offer something in the middles;   V-strom 650, Guzzi V85TT if you like a little bit of dirt..... Tenere 700, Tiger Rally pro, GS if you like more dirt..

KLR is the king of adventure. Simple and rugged.

Honda Monkey back in Canada for 2022!

But it's sooo expensive!!

I want to buy 2...one for me and one for friend to goof around on!

Standard ABS so it's really just a $1,200 premium over the Grom to get a mostly metal construction motorcycle instead of plastic.

I'd love to get that or the Grom in the next couple of years.

$5,299 plus all fees. So definitely expensive but no different than a Vespa or something similar. Presumably re-sale will be strong as well.

My wife says she wants to get one.  Because cute.  ;D  If it gets her on two motorized wheels, it's worth twice the price to me.

Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

It's cute until an F150 blows past you with a 60kph speed differential.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Assuming the monkey in the F150 sees you on yours that is.

It maxes out at 80km/h....so you're not going to be highway cruising with it.

yea, small scooters are for urban riding only.

although, isn't that Big Ruckus a 250?...if so, it should be able to go on the highway (although, it's top speed would likely be in the 110-120 km/hr range?

My PCX did 105-110km/h (then 115 after I put sliders in).

But I still didn't drive it on highways.

A couple of guys on Youtube took their Monkeys to Baja Mexico!

It's not like riding a 1200cc bike would prevent a clown from blasting by you at 60km/h+ either...

Complete waste of a trip down to Baja. Baja deserves a real bike. Been there twice and a 450/500 dirt bike is the bike for full enjoyment. Entertaining to watch? yes. PAddling around on a monkey? Not so much.

Nonsense.

There's no such thing as a wasted trip when you go someplace fun with a buddy merely because you didn't on "bike x".

Well I guess if you have a production crew and support crew to haul all your stuff and fuel then  you can spend two weeks paddling your feet down the length of Baja. I have ridden the length twice and there is no way I would do it on a bike like that. You need to make 200-300km lengths minimum to find accomodation and carry tons of extra fuel.

I liken it to booking a week of heli skiing and then skiing on some short detuned skinny rental boards.  You can do it but for us mere mortals who would need to foot the bill for all that travel? A waste of time.

Of course!

This is two different riding vacations.

And I'd have fun (loads) doing either.

Well I haven't done it - or anything remotely close to it - but it sure looked like fun to me.  Was it a bit of a stunt?  Sure.  But stunts are fun.  I've seen a few other vids of guys taking Monkeys and CT125s on tracks a lot more challenging than your average gravel road or green lane.  Quite remarkable what these little bikes can manage.  Would a proper dirt bike be more capable?  Undoubtedly.  So what?  I'll stop asking rhetorical questions and answering them now.  ;D
