The Triumph Trident 660 looks interesting

https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-reviews/triumph/trident-660/2021/

We've gone back to page 93 again!  :rofl2:

;D  My wife is properly sick of walking downstairs and seeing a Trident video playing on the computer.  "Can't you just watch porn like a normal person?"

Yeah, thats what the wife says when she catches me on kijiji looking at KLRs.....
Lighten up Francis.....

I absolutely LOVE what Indian has done with the FTR for 2021.  The whole flat track inspiration thing was bloody brilliant from an aesthetic and marketing perspective - but all the attempts to stay even remotely true to its roots tended to compromise its performance on the street - which is exactly where 99% of these owners ride their bikes.  So now they've kept the Rally version as the notional off-roader, and for the rest of the line just made it more of what it really is - a sport naked. 19" front wheel and knobby tires are gone in favor of a 17" front with stickier rubber.  Suspension travel reduced for more composed handling.  And seat height reduced as well.  The bike can actually put its power down now, and by all accounts handles much better.

Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Yup... :iagree:

If only Harley would've come through with theirs...might even be better looking...   :inlove: :lick:

But alas...they dumped it before it could begin.  :-\ :(

Its Harley, they are the motorcycle version of Ford for me. None of their lineup attracts me and anything they promise to put out I am highly suspect of quality and design.

That Harley is gross.  Proportions are off.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

I'd call that pricing.... optimistic. Base model 2019s can be had stickered at $13k.

Nice!  All those updates would take it from a very good to a very great bike.  That said, it is hideously overpriced and the tiny fuel tank makes it annoying to do any sort of distance.  I would take a Triumph Speed Twin 10 times out of 10 over the FTR.

Forgive the shameless self-promotion, but I logged a number of miles on an FTR1200 in the autumn of '19:

Cool - I'll look forward to reading those reviews. I really don't plan to do much long distance riding on my still purely imaginry motorcycle -so less of an issue for me.  Of course I could be wrong about the type of imaginary riding I will do.  ;D

Pfft...my brother has had his Harley over 20 yrs, had a small fuel leak when he bought it (new), otherwise it's been routine maintenance and ride, and he rides the fack out of that thing.  Sturgis and all over the place.

That Harley is gross.  Proportions are off.

Horseshi#.  Looks no worse (looks better) than a lot of others...and in some cases, barely much different when it comes to proportions...
MT10

CB1000

Z1000

How is this off?

I do like the black one better...the exhaust alone beats all the others.

You want weird proportions on a Harley, look no further than the Sportster 1250...yuck.

Although full on side view it looks alright...hmmm...meh-ish.

Yammy looks good, Honda looks awesome, Kawi and Harley I don't care for.  Maybe I was too harsh for you.  I'll speak softer  :rofl2:.

All joking aside, the Harley looks too bulked up for my tastes, and very long vertically through the mid section.  Yes, others are similar, but not as bad IMO.  I don't like the angularity of the Kawi either.  Same with a lot of KTMs.

$20,474.90 all in (taxes, fees, everything incl).

I'd call that pricing.... optimistic. Base model 2019s can be had stickered at $13k.
but this isn't a base model...it's the top trim (FTR 1200S Race Replica)...it's what the FTR1200R Carbon is now (new model is same MSRP of $19,999)...if you bought the new one, you pay $20k, plus fees, plus taxes for it...yes, the new one has some nice updates, so maybe that's the way you'd go, but this $20,474.90 is all in...they show a savings of $3250...plus, it's still new so it's not like it was a demo or someone's abused toy for a year...that said, the new changes to the 2021 model do look nice.

it's pretty sweet looking...i know it's not the fanciest BMW roadster, but sometimes simple is nice too.
