keep in mind, those use a V4 engine...not sure about issues, maintenance on those (my old Interceptor 1000 was also a V4, and blew up, but likely an anomaly).
Unlike yours, these ones run forever.
One of more of the Honda V4s required expensive valve adjustments IIRC.
Buy this one, it's purty. Auction ends in 40 minutes

Sigh...one of my dream bikes. Sigh because after I had and sold my trio of rare Yamahas and couldn't afford the 4th rare one (Yamaha R7) I knew where there was a brand new, in the crate RC30. They wanted $15k for it. I should have bought it (obviously). Now the closest I'll come is the VFR400 (NC30). Amazingly, the bikes dimensions look nearly identical such was the extremely tidy packaging of the RC30. It was tiny.
I think it was about 6-8 hours to adjust the valves on the VFR800 VTEC.
The hardcore guys who kept diaries of maintenance (these bikes have large following because they're so good) found the valves typically stayed in spec until 75k miles or more, such was the quality of the engine.
There's a reason these bikes are legendary in the sport touring world. Impeccable build quality and extremely reliable for the long haul.
I love them...friend had one and I spent seat time on it. Sounded absolutely delicious with an exhaust on it. And you could feel/hear the VTEC transition (albeit far, far less than the car engines) which gave it smidge of added character.
There has been many times when I've considered buying one.
