^ There's one that's been for sale a few blocks down from me.  Owner puts it on the corner of his lot for sale sporadically throughout the summer over the last few years.  Looks stock and in great shape.  I should stop in one day this summer and see what he's asking.  Probably a mint if he can't sell it.

Should also mention I've been enjoying the discussion on a bike for Bob.  Good info and insight.  Maybe one day I'll buy a real woods/trail/enduro bike.  KTM's and the like are so damn expensive.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

As much as I like them...that's been my issue.  Yea, you get premium components in them and all of that...but that initial purchase has always hurt me so much!
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Great bike...but I'm old and of short stature...not sure I could live without e-start on a big single these days!!

Reviews starting to trickle in on the new 390 Adventure.  Pretty positive so far...

I'm sad this discussion may be coming to an end. :(

Indulge me and let's compare:

Beta 300 Xtrainer vs KTM 300 XC-W.

After reading about it today, the Xtrainer has lots that appeal to me personally. Sounds like Beta's version of KTMs discontinued Freeride. The lower seat height for sure (I'm short). Even lower than the 200RR! This appeals to me because my inseam is short, and frequently you need to put your foot down in technical stuff. Sounds like it has more low end grunt (!) and the suspension is plush. Price is right ($9399)

On the negatives, it sounds like the suspension falls apart in anything approaching high speed work over 3rd gear...so you'd for sure need a revalve. No fuel injection. Questionable parts availability/dealer network.

Just throwing this out there! :)

That's the bike (Xtrainer 300) my brother picked up last autumn to replace his CRF250L.  He keeps a few of his bikes in our studio over the winter, so I have had plenty of time sitting on it and making "brraaaappp" noises during meetings this year.  I can't believe how incredibly light and small it feels (yet with such beefy components) compared to the Honda.

I find it's very hard to get test rides of anything, that's why I do so much research.

P.S. How much do you think I can get for the CRF250L? It's a 2014, in good condition, with 5-6K on it.

Oh those old CRFs aren't worth more than a grand or so, I'd say.  Out of the generosity of our dear friendship, I'd even offer you $1500 for it.   ;D

Ha ha, I knew you'd be sniffing around... I'm sure there is a reasonable offer in you somewhere!

Lol, can’t even get a beat up 20 year old dual sport that’s heavily beat up and needs an engine overhaul for that little.

Watching that makes me want to put the street tires back on my Beemer and go sliding around
I would undoubtedly get charged with stunting within 5 minutes.  >:(

Look at the pics, he has a bigger comfier  touring bike beside the KLR. He specifically said he built the KLR for a trip to Prudhoe Bay and probably hasn't touched it since.

I like this - Harley or not, it's a good looking bike.
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-street-cruisers-choppers/winnipeg/2019-harley-davidson-fxbrs-softail-breakout-114/1495357511

Just needs a year or so depreciation... :P Like $10g in 3 yrs...
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-street-cruisers-choppers/winnipeg/harley-davidson-softail-breakout/1497827274
Plus the new one has the better (?) engine.
Insurance isn't even bad at $1020 annual for "pleasure" use. (i.e. no more than once a month, maybe week, to work)

Also really like this:
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sport-bikes/winnipeg/2011-cb1000r-7250obo/1496908941

A lot.  Good looking bike. And for only $7250...but insurance...same selection type as the Harley...$1278.  Because it's "sportier".  Basturds.

A Triumph Bobber Black or Indian Scout Bobber is under $1000 @ $965, and FTR1200 is $1760...ouch.
I'd ride this...

Even something like this doesn't seem like it'd be a bad ride.  Reviews all seem positive and it's cheap-ish at $8500 and only 3000 km!!
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-street-cruisers-choppers/winnipeg/2010-yamaha-star-warrior-midnight-canadian-edition/1495338880

Insurance: $916

I need a bike... :P
