Smaller dealers say that KTM can be quite aggressive on the amount of product a dealer has to sign up for. Yes there are the FE501s and TE300s which sell out before they hit the showroom floor but they come with a lot of slower moving metal.

and that makes sense...but we have some pretty high volume dealers here...Hully Gully for example could easily manage the inventory (certainly if the small dealers in smaller towns can).

I don't even know who the KTM dealer in Edmonton is, another reason why the 390 Duke wasn't on my radar.

those are very rare, but likely quite nice...scooters often get looked down at in North America, but they shouldn't...they are great.

I know these bikes. It is the loudest bike I've ever heard. Pistons are about the size of a pop cap.

Yes, saw it in action at the Montreal F1 race in the early 80’s. Did a couple demonstration laps. Loudest bike I ever heard. Louder than the F1’s!

^^It's right there with modern MotoGP bikes...which are also incredibly loud...and louder than F1s.

The RC 166 / RC 167 series of 6cyl GP race bikes were a 22,000 rpm redline tempermental beast of a bike. They had no idle jets in the carbs so constant rev'ing was required when clutch in. High gearing meant slipping the clutch to get going. Any issues with the gravity fuel feed, dirt or heat vapourization, meant instant stall.

those are cool...but likely not overly comfortable for longer rides, plus they're about $2k (or more) than what you bought...would still be fun though.

Oh no, they would be horrid for a long distance....for hooning around and annoying the granola moms around here. I've gotta start working on my skids and wheelies
