That KTM 390 Adventure looks like an appealing package and price.

And they announced the Duke 790 is getting bumped to 890!!

366lbs, 121 HP!!   :o

Dry or wet weight?

Dry.  Lighter than the 790 by a few.  Should be sub 410lbs wet!
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Thinking of trading the G450X for something more "Adventure Bike".    I also have to get the carb cleaned and back on the DR200SE to sell it in the spring.(I think that's all it needs)

More adventure or adventure bike? If the former then KTM 500 EXC or Husky FE501. You won't get more adventure on anything else.

Something more street and passenger friendly.  Like F800GS 'ish.  Dunno, I want a bike I'll ride more.    If I was looking to upgrade what I have now, those above mentioned bikes are on my short list, but I think I want something a bit different.

KTM 790 Adventure was Bike of the Year in a few places.

Any interest in that one?

Oh hell yeah KTM, but it's really new and I'm really cheap.    Not looking really hard, but if something interesting fell in my lap I might trade.

KTM Adventure 950 or 990 is tough to beat.  This one is low kms and all farkled up!  https://www.kijiji.ca/v-motorcycle-other/ottawa/ktm-990-adventure/1451593267

Or old school 640 Adventure.  But you have to be tall!!  https://www.kijiji.ca/v-touring/oakville-halton-region/ktm-enduro-trade-or-cash/1464167573

I rode this at the launch, pretty capable, ridiculously good value for money.

Nice to look at but is it comfortable to ride? Looks like a torture device.  ;D

the local BMW motorcycle shop recently picked up the Indian line...they also just moved into a brand new location...they had their grand opening today, so i went to check it out...their old location was a tiny store at the end of a little strip plaza (maybe 1500 sq ft?)...their new location is likely in the range of 15,000 sq ft...the old location had about 8 (maybe 10) bikes on display...now they have around 50, plus a couple of Slingshots (as they picked those up too)...a really nice new store, you can see the owners really went all in with the investment of the Indian line...a lot of really nice bikes there...they even had the BMW C400GT scooter, so i checked it out...it's about $13k all in (taxes, fees, etc) but is fully loaded and is likely the way i'd like it...it is a bit pricey, but was really nice and would probably be a great scooter to own...it was even in the colour i'd buy...it was tempting, but i didn't buy it.  ;D

Would I be happy with a 650 Vstrom?
Big enough?
Trade for my G450X?

Depends what you'll be doing with it.

I think it's too heavy to be thoroughly enjoyed off road. But if you do hard pack or gravel roads...no problem.

Mostly street ridden? Good little bike IMO.

If it suits, a test ride is definitely in order.

A friend of mine has a 1000 V-Strom - seems like a nice but heavy bike.

To parrot. What type of riding do you expect to do? Mostly on road with a few gravel roads it would be ok.

I still would have the DRZ for real off-roading,   the V-strom would be so I could go on rides with my buddies with street bikes, but still get down to exploring dirty old cottage roads.
I'd like to keep all the bikes, but garage space and insurance costs say otherwise.   I think you mentioned it's getting hard to find parts for the G450X already, so it might be the one to go. unicorn that it is.

I forgot about the DRZ. Yes I would thinka v-strom would make a nice stablemate.  Africa Twin?

I have this weird thing about not buying Honda because when I was 10 my buddy had CT70 and  I had a KE100 and we always argued about what brand sucked.
Still have never owned a Honda branded anything.

I also don't want to spend much money on a bike, so trades sound enticing.  Africa twin is a great bike, a friend has one, but it's still mucho dinero

Yeah, they are also 500 lbs.  The V stroms are always good value. In 8 years you can look for a creampuff KTM 790

I had a Vstrom 650 for years, it would be great for what you are thinking of.

Lots of good mods on that one too
