I actually quite liked the bobber when I sat on one. Not as feet forward as you think.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Really? Never sat on one but that Indian pic a few posts up shows a big lateral distance from seat to rear brake.

Bobbers usually have a more intermediate foot position. The new Honda Rebels are like this. The old Rebels were feet forward cruisers.

I think it looks bigger than it feels. I have a dodgy back so a regular cruiser would kill me, the bobber felt more upright. It was like riding an armchair though LOL, maybe when I'm older, like Ron.  :rofl2:

I'll ride anything, man! As long as I'm racking up Kms!  I had a Harley Wide Glide at the same time I had a SM...2 extremes on the bike spectrum LOL.

I'd have put a deposit down on the new 890R if it wasn't for the fact they said a 490 SM is coming....

Well, Mr CB1000R is down to $6500 - firm!  If only...

Also, I like this, it's artwork on 2 wheels.

I'd ride that, too.

It may be artwork, but I'd hate to have to ride it.
Doesn't look like it's made to be of any real use, just looked at mostly.

We call those "bar hoppers".

Drive it to the bar/restaurant...eat/have a drink, then go home.

the owner of my company has a custom chopper, raked out and everything...it's a cool bike, but a pain to ride, especially at lower speeds...it's also a hard tail (no rear suspension)...it's seriously all looks...you'd never daily it.

It probably costs that amount to insure every year in Manitoba. ;D

Yup, almost. $1278 for "pleasure" and $1922 for All Purpose (so you can ride to work as much as you want).  You might think, well, that's not so bad...if you only ride 5 month it's only $800...but you'd be wrong.  That's how it used to work.  Annual divide by 12 and if you go May to end of Sept, you pay for those 5 months.

Now...now it's $1922 annual...but you pay for all of it for those 5 riding months we get.  You can insure it cheap before May 1st or after Sept 30 ('tis what my bro did for years) because they were/are the off season months.  A bit of a crock o'shyte anyway.

My BIL in NB pays about $275 he figures for his Multistrada 1000...it's the same as the CB1000R here, more than the bike is worth.  And our roads are about as entertaining as watching curling...and about as straight and flat too.  Least 'round where I am.  :P

 :'(

A cruiser bruiser makes more sense...

Which brings me to this.  I thought the Warrior was Yamaha's big bike...nope!  The Raider is even bigger. 1000 800 and 54 CC's of V-twin. Pretty sure that it'd be fast enough...and it actually looks a bit better than the Warrior too (rear fender on the Warrior is tooooo long).
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-street-cruisers-choppers/regina/2008-yamaha-raider-s-for-sale/1497957410

Probably shyte on gas, but that's OK.  Seen some with almost 100,000 km on them, apparently reliable as the day is long.

What I learned in my short motorcycling career.  Cruisers are not actually comfortable at all.
