As I slowly transform the 500 to a long range off road vehicle I have a gap for a single track play thing. Two stroke with none of the downsides.

Haha more than that:

1) Linkage > PDS shock.
2) Also free preload adjusters for the fork. Great little addition if using on the street as it takes some of the dive away when playing motard. These generally come on the 6 days editions on the KTMs

But the XC vs XC-W have linkage vs PDS, don't they...and I think you have a choice on other models too, don't you?

And as you point out, the pre load is available on the 6 Days.

I don't think it's unfair to say badge engineered IMO...it's basically a 6 Days with the XC linkage to differentiate (somewhat) from the KTM.  Or a fuel injected XC with pre-load adjusters.  ;D  Also...many of these roll out of the same KTM factory.  Is that the case with these?

Oh...And white and yellow!   ;)

I soooo wish the Husky 450 SM was street legal!! So much want!

Yeah you have the idea right: The XC has linkage but a close ratio transmission. The XC-W has PDS and a wide ratio transmission. The TE Husky has wide ratio and the linkage. Believe it or not there are quite a few differences.

Brakes: KTM Brembo, Husky Magura
Clutch: KTM Brembo, Husky Magura
Handlebars: KTM Neken, Husky Pro Taper
Wheels: KTM Giant, Husky D.I.D.

The subframes are different too. KTM aluminum, Husky composite carbon fiber

Powerlants I believe are identical.

What about forks? Pretty sure the XC has air springs, while XC-W & TE have coils.

I’d probably go XC-W, just for the PDS. Sure, linkage might be better, but PDS works fine for me and I love the simplicity.

Oh yes the air forks, good point. For enduro work once they are properly sprung I prefer the Explor forks. I used to be a dyed in wool PDS guy until I rode a properly sorted linkage bike in rooty/rocky terrain. No contest as the linkage just keeps that rear planted. It comes at a price regreasing all those bearings though.

Hmmm...that Husq looks very cool.  Wish I was 19 again.

But...Saturday was Ride for Dad and there was a TON of bikes cruisin' the Peg, and the ones that really caught my eye were the Scouts.  What a fecking good looking bike on the road.  And insurance aint half bad either at $984 for "pleasure" (pleasure means I can take it work, right?  I mean, I'd find that pleasurable.)

I'd ride that.

Not sure if vaporware
Interesting premise

meh...that thing will likely be a fortune...plus, you need their fancy HUD helmet to have any instrumentation...pass.

if you want an electric bike, just get the Livewire:

Yes I want an electric bike, but not the Harley.
it's a fairly new genre...it's going to be expensive to get into something decent for a while.

Zero already makes the best motorcycle on the market, but fairly priced competition is welcome.

I still disagree. :)

I prefer the Energica Ego...because it looks as nice as it performs!

The Zero is a bit hard on the eyes IMO.
