Last month, my wife and I traded in what we’d been driving. It was a sporty, red, 2009 Pontiac Vibe, basically a rebadged Toyota Matrix. We loved that car

I got that far and realized the article was ultra ***.    :)

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

If you need it, you aren't, and won't be.

For anyone to claim a Vibe was sporty, that makes anything else they say about cars meaningless.
My diesel car self-identifies as an electric vehicle.

Most noteworthy feature of this thread is what inspired the Snowman to peruse an artofmanliness website in the first place...

Neat idea for an article but, as others appear to have done as well, I wrote it off as pure wankery when the word sporty was used to describe a Vibe, seemingly with no comprehension by the author of how thoroughly this disqualified his article for publication on a website devoted to manliness.

Who drives their minivan pining for the good old days when they had the freedom to cruise in that vintage bad ass Vibe that used to occupy the driveway?  Say no more.

I thinks its a fun site, and not insecure to admit that.

I read the "how to grill steaks" and "get others to pay for your bar drinks" topics.
I passed on the topic of how to remove a fish hook from your finger though. Too manly for me. :P

Oh sure, deflate my ad hominem attack with a mature and reasoned position.

http://artofmanliness.com/2013/02/15/what-to-do-when-you-get-pulled-over-by-the-police/

"If you’re carrying a gun, let the officer know"   Not common in Canada.

Pretty good article except the first part about empathizing with the tax collector cop's situation.

A friend of mine was pulled over for speeding and when the cop asked if he knew why he was pulled over he said for not wearing a seat belt. So he got a ticket for speeding and another for no seatbelt.

I'm surprised a website named "Art of Manliness" didn't suggest you offer to arm wrestle for the ticket.   ;D

I love his first car - reminds me of mine - 1978 Mercedes-Benz 230...
