It's not so bad if you think of it inverted...when the engine light shuts off, watch out.

It's a difference in operations.  It's an "engine" light that mean "yup, the engine is still there!!"  A least that what my buddy with the old Jetta kept telling himself...

That's the one with the biggest bulb... It's the one Audi owners keep warm by.

There should be a little knock-out panel on the shifter console which, when removed, uncovers a switch which can be turned to unlock the shift lever.

Even if that's the case, sounds pretty dumb. Batteries are most often in need of boost or replacement in the winter.  And you have to remove a panel to unlock the shifter console?   ::)

[ARTICLE] Long-Term Quality: The Audi Syndrome

http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/long-term-quality-the-audi-syndrome-1683110437/+pgeorge

....kinda nailed it.  LOL.

Top 2 reasons for people owning Audis:

Quote
1. They can afford the high maintenance costs that come with owning an Audi.

2. They don't get too bothered by minor electrical issues that tend to gradually creep up on these models as they age.

Jalopnik site was down for a bit.  Probably a DoS attack by a bunch of angry Audi owners.

Or an electrical problem.   ;D

True story:  One year IQ and I went to the NAIAS.  But they closed it and wouldn't let anyone in.  Turns out there was an electrical fire...in the Audi display.   :rofl2:

Almost $300K, a little to rich for most people. Definitely a good collector's item.
