We will never know.  But the fact Canada severed all ties with Iran last week, and a war in the middle east looks more real daily would be the excused floated around right now I believe

There were some refinery shutdowns in the last couple of weeks too.

Beating the wardrums on Iran is so absolutely stupid. The Iranian leadership is in trouble, let them hang themselves. Outsiders getting involved just makes the people ralley around their government.

And if the US had trouble with 26M Iraqis, how do you think they're going to manage 76M Iranians?

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

The price of gas went up because the price of gas went up. What more is there to say. The spot price in NY went up yesterday and might go up again this week.

This.

Plus we were never given any reason why we severed ties.  The US must have asked us to, so Bush Jr. complied.... ::)

Iran hasn't left its borders to start a war in ~300 years.......

Meanwhile, the US does every few years.

And Iran is the country threatening world peace?  I think not...

I'm not saying who is doing what, but the situation just keeps getting worse and we are all about to be dragged into a conflict of some kind once again.

Heard two separate news reports attributing the price jump to the assassination of the US Ambassador to Libya.

Payback is a :censor:.

The American army will not set foot in Iran. They can't, this is a country that hasn't been conquered for more than a thousand years. Israel will send some planes and rockets, with US support but that's pretty much it. If Israel gets lucky, the Arabs around it won't attack it - although Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Arabs inside Israel will retaliate. If they don't get lucky and I think they won't, lots of Syrians have weapons now, as do the Lebanese, the Arabs will stop fighting each other and together fight Israel once again.

^^Don't forget Egypt.  Muslim Bortherhood is in charge there, and supposedly they've had talks with Iran already.

Many experts said an attack on Iraq by the USA and ousting Saddam would destabilize the region.  Looks like they were right...

They just might....with no Jews to kick around, they naturally will fight each other.  Don't underestimate how a war with Israel could bring them together.

I hate to say it, but I think youre right. The arabs arent exactly the best at organizing themselves, but to strike against Israel, someone might break out Microsoft Excel and make some lists. THis is horrid.....all I see is me in a subcompact by next summer...... :'(  :hurl:  :(

Whoa whoa whoa...let's get this straight.  Israel is the one who is going to start this by striking Iran...not the other way around.  Israel will start it, and Iran will reply...as any country would do.

I'll say it again...Iran has not left their borders to start a war in ~300 years.  Can't say the same thing for US, Israel, etc..
