Is it my imagination or are there two people about 1/3 of the way up that mast?  Just standing there.

Is that the same mast  that has a youtube video of two guys climbing all the way up to change a light bulb or something?   The video link  was on this site a couple of years back IIRC

Here's three photos from our 5 day camping trip in Algonquin.  Such amazing country.

He did.  Well,  he mostly just rolled with everything that was going on.  Slept well in the tent too.

The 2 year old was a little more challenging.  I really overestimated how content he would be sitting in a canoe for 4.5 hours.

Summer is quickly leaving the Rockies.  On Friday, I hiked 41km of the Skyline Trail in Jasper.  It's a 50km trail that has over 50% above treeline, hence the name.  It's popular to do it over 3-5 days, but I enjoy doing it fast, slow, and in all seasons.  (One year I did it winter/spring/summer/fall)  I've done it as a trail run, and in 2003 I ran it one direction, and then turned around and ran back.

This trip I did it over one long day and a quick morning out.  41km on day one and 9km on day two.  The trail goes over three passes, the final one being The Notch, one of the highest points on an established trail in Jasper, at over 2500M.  On a clear day you can see for ~100km in all directions, but on Friday, the weather was pretty marginal.  The temperature for the day didn't rise above 0C, and when I did have precip, it was snow.  Well, almost.  I camped at Signal Mountain camp, and it actually warmed enough during the night to rain all night.

I didn't take many pics, as my phone needs bare fingers to use, and I didn't want to have my gloves off very long...

(At The Notch...)
