Wow...got a ride in a 2013 Focus with the quirky (?) auto in it...what a bag of shi#!  :nono:  Is your transmission slipping?  I could've sworn we were either losing traction (highly unlikely) or the drive shafts were missing half their teeth or were rounded off.  Or sorta like the front diff on a 4X4 on dry pavement, but rubbery.  Yuck.

Great l/100's though.  Was registering 5.3l/100 and it's windy as fack out there today.

But damn...how did Ford get away with using that POSPDK for so long?  (it was long wasn't it?)

A friend of mine had a '13 Focus that I drove a few times and I thought the transmission was fine. Weird how they seem to be all over the place.

Someone I know drove a Focus hatch of this vintage. It was Mexico made and he says it was the most reliable car he's ever owned. It had a stickshift  :P

She told me they have to bring it in to the dealer every now and then (yearly or more) and that it's a cheap fix - and it's free for life.  For them I guess...who knows if they sell it.

No Russian oligarch's yachts at Monaco this year, so Canadians have the biggest.

Called to cancel/renew SiriusXM as my 1-year promotion was up in July.  Best I could get was $6.89 per month taxes/fees included for in-car, online, and app, billed monthly.  I kept it in both cars, my wife loves it, but for my vehicle this is about my limit in terms of price.

Interesting new phone scam...my wife gets a call and they say it's Amazon Prime and they would like our authorization for a Macbook purchase for $1400.  Just press #1 to reject the purchase.

I wonder what happens if  you think it's real and press 1?

That is a new one!  I’ll be warning my parents, that would send my Mother into an instant panic (even though they don’t have an Amazon account )

We knew it was a scam as my wife never gives out her phone number, so Amazon certainly doesn't have it and anyway, the account is in my name.

Another weird one...a couple of days ago I was paying bills, my AMEX has an $11.29 charge from Amazon for membership.
I check my other card statement as I'm sure I  pay with Mastercard, yup, sure enough, there are previous membership charges on it.   I go to Amazon Prime and check my payment methods, they have my Mastercard and my old AMEX that expired months ago.
Call AMEX, they don't know how the charge got on my bill, (it was the only charge, I haven't used the card in maybe a year or more and didn't think the new card was even activated)  so they take it off.   I want to cancel my account, but they talk me out of it.

Later, I'm going through Amazon Prime and find where I can look at receipts for monthly fees, which this month went up from $9.99 to $11.29, sure enough, there's the charge on my AMEX, all others for previous months were on my Mastercard, plus the AMEX they have expired months ago.
Just weird.

Hershel Woodrow Williams (October 2, 1923 – June 29, 2022) was a United States Marine Corps warrant officer and United States Department of Veterans Affairs veterans service representative who received the United States military's highest decoration for valor—the Medal of Honor—for heroism above and beyond the call of duty during the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. At the time of his death, Williams was the last living Medal of Honor recipient from World War II.
