So my wedding is taking place in the southern US next month...

Congratulations!

My mom has been saying that as long as the land borders are open,

When is the wedding?

End of November, so we're good.

Sounds like a great itinerary.  Here's hoping everything works out just right for everyone involved!

Big congrats.  So was there any particular reason you guys chose to plan a marriage in the states?  Do you have a lot of family there, maybe you or your wife grew up in the area?  Just seems like if someone is doing a destination wedding these days they typically either choose Vegas, Disney, or someplace in the Caribbean.

November is a great month , we at year 42
Our son got married last December, during lockdown, maximum number of people 10,
I think he was happier with that size  😁

Thanks all!

We do have a lot of family there, and pre-COVID, it seemed like the more logical solution.  :)

My brother and SIL did a small wedding with immediate family only.  Church service, dinner and I was out of my suit by 8 pm.

If you are in Ontario, check you driver license and health card for the expiration date , they do not send out a letter telling you it is time to renew it
It only takes 5 mins to do it online

OMG we now have a generation of retail staff that simply can't make change when you pay with cash.

Also, stupid retail policies/procedures:

So my wife orders my little guy a fall jacket online, and because we spent over $100 we got 50% off the order.  As ridiculous as that sounds.  So it's too big, and I run into the brick and mortar store to do an exchange.  Keep in mind, the 50% discount is applied to the bottom line, not individual items.  So I' assuming I need to do an exchange to maintain my pricing.

Girl: Umm, online order, can't do an exchange, but I can refund and you can re-buy.
Me: Sure, whatever
Girl:  Okay, your refund is xxxx
Me: Wait a minute, that's more than we paid
Girl:  No no, look, it says right there on your receipt you payed $39.99 plus tax
Me:  The 50% discount at the bottom?
Girl: Blank stare.  Please tap your card.
Me: Well, I'm not gonna argue with you....
Girl: Okay, your total today on your purchase is $22.99
Me:  Umm, that's a lot less than my refund?
Girl: We have 50% off today!

Was at the hardware store and someone wanted to pay with a "cheque".  I'm guessing small contractor or business or something.

Clerk behind counter didn't know what a cheque was and had to call the manager.

No joke.
