Woohoo, taxes done.  Usually I get them done super late, and it's a constant source of anxiety for me throughout the spring.  This is the first time I've filed them early, and it's a good feeling.  I can enjoy spring now without the thought of tax deadline looking up on me.

I just got my stuff in the mail yesterday.  Maybe I'll get onto that this evening.
I should have a nice refund as I retired halfway through last year.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

I got a decent chunk back, like close to a grand.  Due mostly in part to the Carbon tax refund, and in lesser part due to the extra taxes I have my work take off from back when I was claiming the MIL's rent as income.

My wife got less than $100 back, so when I told her what I was getting back, she was not impressed.

Insurance rebate, wow.

We got MPI rebates this year.  Both vehicles are insured under my wife, so she got something like $250 back.

It's one of the best facets of public insurance vs private insurance.  100% guarantee that private insurance companies aren't providing refunds, nor are they lowering premiums due to lower costs related to less vehicular traffic on the roae due to COVID.

We got a rebate last year due to Covid, it wasn't much IIRC, but we did.

Wow, that should be 3-5 years in jail minimum. Outrageous.

Please tell me this can be appealed?

She pled guilty, what's there to appeal?

I've seen other cases where the uproar forces some other judge to review the sentencing.

Saw an $800 Protege5 on my Facebook feed this morning. Hard to believe these cars are 20 years old. We owned one for a bit that I picked up for cheap because it was rusty (no surprise) and it was such a great driving car.

Sigh, I still miss mine. Bought it at 55k km and took it to 225k km.

I remember after I had the shocks replaced by mechanic commented that is a little sports car.

Still the best steering on any car I've driven.

It's really too bad that Mazda pretty much stopped making wagons for our market after that.  Such a fun little car.

I had my P5 for 4 years and 150,000 km. Drove it to California and many places in between. Loved that car and how fun it was. Ended up trading it in for a Mazda 6 Wagon which we also loved but in different ways.

We had our P5 at the same time as our Mazda 6 wagon. Both manuals. Was a nice combo of cars to have.

Similar story for me. Great handling little car.
I remember going to a Mini test drive event and wondering what the big deal was with Mini handling.

Yes, I'd say that the Protege5 and the 2007 Mini Cooper S were the two most fun cars we've had in terms of steering and handling.
