I test drove a new RAM Limited today.  Man, it's crazy how luxurious trucks are today.  I couldn't get over how much more comfortable it was compared to my F-150 Lariat.  It's also crazy what some of these trucks sticker for.  I highly doubt that I'll go back to Ford for my next truck.

If the Tundra didn't exist, I would have a Ram.

It would be interesting to compare your F-150 to the new '21 when it goes on sale.

Even compared to the current F150?

The current F-150 is still an extremely old platform. They made some updates for '21 but it's still a mid-cycle refresh. Plus, the EcoBoost 3.5 just isn't as good as the GM 6.2 / 5.3 or the Ram 5.7.

I think I prefer the two lanes for cars and no bicycle lane.  In the winter... bicycle lanes fine May through October.

Unprotected bike lanes are fairly useless though.

More important than two travel lanes are dedicated left turn lanes. A three lane road with a dedicated left turn lane typically has the same traffic flow as a four lane road without turning lanes. So in theory you can convert four lane roads into three lane roads + a protected bike lane with no loss in capacity.

Very nice. I love Carbon Black, it's still offered on some BMWs.

Not a selling feature to me to name a paint colour carbon black
I still have nightmares about carbon black from working with it for 30 years.  The plant used pneumatic conveyors to move it around.  It gets everywhere and it's conductive.
If we had a leak you'd just see a black cloud coming at you and you ran for an exit.   I've had to wade through it at times, takes hours to clean off, and then you still have black eyeliner.

That brings back memories of working with dust at the asphalt plant.  Dust would get blown off the aggregates inside the plant, and collect inside a silo.  We'd then inject a controlled amount of it back into the asphalt mixture.  The rest would need to be emptied out of the silo every day.  It was hot, because it had been heated along with the aggregate it came from.  That stuff flows like water when its hot, and it's very, very soft.  It's a really neat material.  Basically the finest possible type of aggregate.

Dog safety belt proved its worth tonight.  Deer jump out in front of me as we were coming back from a walk in the park and I had to pretty well stand on the brakes to avoid hitting it.  Stanley's face was about even with mine when he fetched up, otherwise he would have smashed into the dash/window.  Deer are crazy stupid this time of year and that is a bad area for them so i always scan the roads looking for the bastards.  This one ran out between two cars driving in the opposite lane so i didn't see it until it was right in front of me.  :o  I just missed smoking this one and luckily he ran straight across the road.  A similar scenario happened to my wife several years ago, also around this time of year, and instead of going straight it turned toward her and ran into the side of her car.
