Got my first speeding ticket today...ever.

He clocked me going 79 km/h in 50 km/h zone. Now this stretch of road is four lanes, hills and very little traffic lights. Not making an excuse but just for some context. For those of you in the GTA it’s the stretch of Lakeshore by Lorne Park.

Luckily he lowered it to 15 over, no points and a $50 fine...phew. He said my story checked out and when he looked me up he noticed my last ticked (not for speeding) was in 1995!

Anyway, I’ll take this as a little reminder to mind my speed more often.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Good on ya for getting off. That sounds like a honeypot for the police, artificially low speed limit on a road that allows much higher speeds.

I know that area extremely well, as I'm pretty close by.  I speed on that section all the time if there's no one around.  Sightlines are very good.  Glad you didn't get overly-dinged.

The so called e-bike that Simon Cowell fell off. I'm thinking this is an e-motorcycle with pedals. I'm sure I heard these can hit 80 mph!

The beating heart of this beast is an electrical motor with 15kW of power. Fed by a 1.75 kW.h Lithium-Ion power pack, the EB-01 gets considerable range thanks to its regenerative braking. It only takes 1.5 hours to get the bike to a full charge and then it can blast up backroads in a second. The EB-01 uses a wide range 9 speed sequential gearbox that is entirely sealed to protect it from the elements.

Exactly, e-bike my ass. Mine puts out 750 watts and it is not short on power as a fat bike

15,000 watts is a motorcycle. The Zero S motorcycle is only 7200

Out here you will often see a row of trucks with a lot of orange vests driving in a row (as well as carriers loaded up too)...pretty sure it's not Cdn's driving them down to the US, but rather a van full of 'mericans coming up to drive them back.  My point simply being, with all the Covid in the US...how is this considered essential?  Gas, food...sure, we need that.  But (being allowed to) coming up to save a bundle because the dollar's still shi#?  Why?  Can't they buy used trucks in the states and re-sell them?

I guess it drives up the prices of stuff here...there's nary a new or used truck on any of the local lots.  And when there are...they seem to disappear within days.

How does an article like this even make it to the press? Did he call to brag about it. Seems to be proud about screwing the system.
