:censor:, man, I've tried.  But his Mom is a softie.  Pisses me off, he sits around the house and does :censor: all.  I already tried cutting of his internet, but his Mom wasn't having any of it, and honestly, it's not worth the fight.

But yes, he's a leech.  By the time I was his age I was holding two jobs, and getting ready to move out of my folk's house.
Our boys internet is OFF until any homework and chores we assign him are done. When he's done, we inspect the work and turn his internet on if we're satisfied. Has been an excellent tool for teaching "stuff isn't free", "work before play", "everyone needs to contribute to the household" and "there's no free lunch". Despite always being on top of his chores and school work, we really started hammering this line of thinking hard-core when he was 13 in addition to what the expectations are when he finishes school. He knows we intend to retire...and those retirement plans don't include him and supporting him financially

Sounds like you're up against it with your wife being OK with him being a loaf.

Best of luck to you man....

The best I've been able to concede is that he has a set list of chores.  If I notice that chores aren't getting done, his internet gets limited.

We initially had some resistance (because kids like to test boundaries). We expected this...because kids!   So we based his following week internet usage on how he did during the current week. Early on, there was a couple weeks where he had ZERO internet. He learned quickly that we were unwavering and we weren't f-ing around. He got the message and now we're on the day-to day usage scheme.

You're in a tough spot, man. You need both parents on message or it won't work.

My bros situation is similar to yours. His stepdaughter is late 20s..works..and still lives at home because mom is a softie.

Anyone else noticed - toilet paper doesn't go on sale anymore?  Local store has 12 packs of Purex - double roll I think...$15.

$15!!  :P ::)  (for those who don't do the shopping - sale/flyer price would be $5.99 avg)

Had/has a whole pallet and then some.

Costco was STACKED with TP yesterday.  Well, considering everyone else bought a 2 yr supply  :P ...when we run out I guess we'll have to pony up!

In France, it’s currently possible for a woman simultaneously to be fined €165 for being in public with a face covering and €135 for being in public without a face covering

^ Nope.
As much as it sucks ours got scrapped this year, wouldn't consider another until vaccine in place.

More protecting and serving, Ottawa police are on a roll.

Quote
More than 10 years after the violent 2009 roadside arrest of Mark Krupa, the Ottawa Police Service Board has settled out of court in a confidential cash settlement after Krupa sued for being subjected to knee strikes to the head and back.

The lawsuit against Ottawa police homicide Det. Kevin Jacobs and the department was settled out of court earlier this week.

Where the :censor: are the track marshals and why are they not black flagging these idiots!? I'd be plenty pissed off if my car got damaged like that on an open lapping day...
