So this is perfectly legal, in case you also hate clearing off all those windows on your car.

Yup.  The swerver driving that mess should be relegated to a desk job.   >:(  I never leave my driveway without cleaning snow off my truck.  I even use a roof rake to clean the snow off my cap.

Edit: I typed a$$hole (without the $$) and it was changed it to swerver above.  When did that start to happen?  :-\

I suspect the Halton men in bkue will be more diligent with their snow removal. The roof-mounted side cameras wont work well with all that snow on them.

Why a desk job?  The police said there was no problem.    You no longer have to clean off your truck

Been like that since almost forever. I think since the forum migrated over to the new platform maybe back in 2006 or so?

Here's an example from 2007: https://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php?topic=52064.msg381909#msg381909

On the way out of Wpg on Sunday afternoon, an old Impala SS (FWD V8) came blasting up beside and past us, with a Tesla right on its heals.  Next several miles the SS kept baiting the Tesla, it was dark, couldn't really tell if the Tesla driver was taking it, only saw the SS brake lights keep coming on.  Several miles up they both went left.  Impala took off at a good pace.  Then the Tesla took off.  Holy shi#!  The Imp looked fast...but OMG that Tesla looked like something hit it from behind with a wrecking ball. Boom! Across the road and must've been doing whatever speed the SS was doing before it even got into the intersection.  Damn.  Probably friends...what are the chances they both go left (this aint COTU - it's small enough if they both went left, they're probably hockey buddies) and are playing Big Daddy Don Garlits and Brittney Force?

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/trucks-people-trailer-go-through-ice-balsam-bay-1.5389589

Calling Bubba!!!  Will MPI cover vehicles if they go through ice on Lake Winnipeg?  I'm actually curious to know.

Seriously though, how stupid do you have to be.  It's one thing to take your truck on the ice at the end of December/January once the ice has had time to form and is several feet thick.  But right now?  It hasn't been all that cold for all that long, and there are still stretches of completely open water.

That trailer looks new.

Also, I just noticed, the truck on this graphic is clearly a Tundra DoubleCab.  You can tell by the taillights and headlights.

Ford workers break their silence on faulty transmissions: 'Everybody knew'

Thanks for that.

I had no idea that transmission was such a turd.  I rented a Focus in 2011 (the 2012 MY)  and it was fine underway but seriously odd in traffic.

There are people here who routinely skate when the ice is less than 3” thick. They wear dry suits and PFDs, and skate with ice axes in their hands so they can claw themselves out of the water if/when they break through.

Apparently, it’s a thing.  ::)

I guess if you're doing it with all the proper safety equipment, then it's okay.  Kinda like SCUBA diving, or skydiving, or spelunking, etc.  As long as you understand the risks and prepare yourself so as to reduce/mitigate those risks, then it's okay.

It's the unprepared people who put themselves into danger by not realizing what the dangers are.
