Walking the dog last night, found a fob for a Cadillac with a house key attached. Off the top of my head I couldn't think of which neighbor has a caddy, i'm probably forgetting someone obvious, but it did have a war amps tag on it, so I dropped it in the mailbox.

Third time in the last five years I've found a set of keys, two out of three had war amps tags.

My wife pointed out that I never get them, and she does, and maybe my experience would suggest that I should use them, too.

Saw that gas prices were down (10 cents vs this morning) and my gauge was down to 1/4 so stopped in to fill up. Was the second car in line for my lane and noticed a guy filling his pickup who was already started before I pulled up.

My turn, fill up, pay, move to the road and wait for traffic to clear. Notice the guy is still filling his truck while I pull out into traffic.

Trip computer said I had 30kms until empty at time of fill up.

Work truck has a 130L tank and I've filled it twice this week already, and Monday was a holiday...lol

There's a blue one a block away from where I work. Looks nice, better wheels than that red one. Never moves. Pretty sure it was for sale a few years ago, just can't remember how much. Wonder if the owner knows what it's worth, or if a few g's would pry it loose. I'll see if I can get a picture if I don't forget.

So I spent eight hours today hauling branches from people's yards around the neighbourhood to the 4R depot. I'm pooped now. I'll be back at it tomorrow.

Besides I'm out of the country until early Nov and I'm hoping that one of my neighbours will be kind enough to take care of the few branches that I have. If not I'll take care of it when I get back.

I'm getting paid a little bit, basically just enough to cover expenses. My truck sucked down about $60 worth of gas yesterday pulling that trailer. It's a heavy trailor.

The frustrating part about the whole effort is that it's a dump trailer, but because I"m dumping at the 4R depot, I'm not allowed to use the dump functionality. I have to handbomb everything off the trailer, which takes me a good 30 minutes each time.

Ahh...(learn something new every day...so old, yet...so dumb...) my kid showed me a trick the other day (because I honestly never thought about it - but he cleans up trees on the farm so much...) - put at least the first layer on the bottom of the trailer with the fat end of the branch towards the back (or all of them if it works). That way when you pull them off the truck/trailer, they don't catch on the side/end of the box. I've always just willy-nilly threw them in the bed. We did a load his way...4' stacked high, he grabbed one branch out of the middle and took the whole load off in about 8 seconds.

Huh...dad...you're not so smart. One of these days I might just concede and give him full control before I hit dementia stage. WTF...he's an engineer (or will be) too...how can I compete with that? Age is not > than education.

Why can't you use the dump feature? That's weird. Guess they have their reasons.
