Used to be one almost right in town on the Minnesota border but they closed that down years ago.  Mostly used by illegals now I suppose...assuming they can follow a road instead of walking through a field.  But even that seems to have died down.  Next nearest is about 12 miles west, and city dwellers have a hard enough time finding the border (thank god it's a straight shot south of Wpg  ;D) never mind something 12 miles west.
Miles   ::) :P

Miles is still the easiest way to tell distance in rural areas as roads are one mile apart.

Yeah, it's difficult for people from Ontario (in particular, for some reason) to understand...so here's a map.
https://goo.gl/maps/NCa21Q4xHhHK3CMb7 - and if you go farther north, they're even marked nicely...Rd 100 north, rd 12 east, and so on.
Every block, is exactly 1 sq mile.  1 north, 1 south, 1 east, 1 west, (SK seems to do a lot of 2 north/south, 1 east/west) but yes, despite being metric, it's easier to say miles or explain miles since 12 miles would be 12 stripes on the map.  12 roads.  Start at mile marker 1 and go 12 blocks, 12 "roads" which, OMG! Just happens to be exactly 1 mile apart! Which Pshw! Is...12 miles!  And 12 is easier to count than....12 X 1.6 = ...how many fecking roads west again??? Did he say 16? Why am I in Winkler?  Fack...I'm lost...

Shyt most city people can't read signs (again, seems ON'ers get lost on flat land  :P)...it's simple, straight south of Wpg, you have 3 chances to get to Altona...and yet they still end up crossing the border at Emerson.

As it is...I'd probably get lost in Ontario...why are there no sections!! (what we call those full sq miles)

Looking at Google Maps at that area, it's interesting that this airport is right on the border: https://www.google.ca/maps/@48.9987809,-95.9808882,1303m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en

Literally an international airport.

Looking at that list, Fobroader is the most surprising.  He's been around a relatively short time compared to the others.  Fack, get some work done man!  :rofl2:

Wonder if Trump knows about that one...great smuggling point, if not for the customs buildings right next to it.  Probably enough cameras to catch you and how many arm hairs are standing up.  Did not know that was there.  Doubt that would fly today...hyuck.

Apparently there are six runways that straddle the US/Canada border. This is the only one that is paved though.

The Throttle House guys just compared the Accord 2.0T and Jetta GLI. They preferred the GLI.
The biggest complaints about the Accord were the rubbery manual, indifferent clutch and rev hang. Pretty much what I found in the Civic Si.

I feel validated.  ;D

Also, I get a kick out of Throttle House. Very entertaining and well shot reviews.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

The engineering technologist in me had to do some calculations...

Structurally. homes are supposed to withstand 1.9 kPa (40 psf) of live load and 136 kg (300 lb) of concentrated load. A Smart ForTwo weighs up to 1,808 lb. Divided by 45 sq ft, that's 40.2 psf. A little bit over but that's ok. The concentrated loads have me a little more concerned, 1808 lb / 4 tires = 452 lb. Hopefully there's a very good safety factor. Or it's a ground level rancher with no basement.

In Canada, the safety factor would be 1.5 for live load like that car.

One of the great things about building with wood is its ability to take much higher loads for short durations.  So, while a wood floor may only be rated for 40psf for normal (long) duration, for a shorter duration (days or weeks), it can actually take much more without deflecting permanently.

Not necessarily...the house could be built on piles with crawlspace underneath.
