Plants that produce trains, streetcars  and subway cars  do tend to have governments as their main customers.
Sure...so they're the customer...and they ball them out.

You won't find a single entity that produces rail equipment, ships or aircraft that doesn't get government support.

The only policy decision is whether you want to be in that business or not, and how much you're willing to pay.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Lynn and her mom have just gone to a friend's to witness her signing  the assisted suicide forms.

Good that we have this now, but still sad

Ya, those are tough even when you know you are doing the right thing. Really have to put your mind in a whole other world to deal with it. From a similar situation, I still remember being in on the decision with my Mom and DRs to remove my brother off dialysis. I knew what was the right decision but it never helped me sleep at night.

Indeed, it's sad but it's great that it's an option.

Interestingly enough, in NB, technically, you have to be competent enough to agree to the procedure AT THE TIME THE PROCEDURE IS ADMINISTERED.

So, in the case of progressive diseases, you have to know ahead of time what the point of no return is, and be sure to have the procedure at that point.  Because if the physicians involved cannot say that at the time of the procedure, you were competent to consent, then they aren't supposed to do it.

You can't plan ahead, and say, 'if i'm in this state, please do it'.

National Nude Day and National Tape Measure Day are both celebrated July 14th.

Coincidence?  I think not.

Mum and Dad were out here for a few days. I dropped them off at the airport this morning. It was nice to see them again.

It's hard to believe they're knocking on 80. Where does the time go?

Had a lunch and learn from a vendor about their new industrial network architecture and equipment capabilities.

When I first started, it was basically hardwired buttons and switches, now drives are sending selfies and letting you know status: "Feeling cute. IDK. Might catch fire later"
