Sister asked me about a 2011 Volvo XC60 with 162k on it as a used car. "Hard pass. Look for a CRV or RAV4."

This would be a second car for roaming around town, mostly for their teens to get to work.

She ended up with a 2013 CRV that they'll pick up today. I suspect it'll serve them much better. Brother in law isn't handy, and hates dealing with car issues, even minor ones.

Yamaha if I am not mistaken.  Was just over $1000 - nothing fancy but at least it's in tune.  The old one is - as it has been for a loooong time - just decoration.  Might roll it out the door this summer and see what happens when it falls off the back of the truck at 110 kmh.  You can't give those things away anymore.  No one wants them, not when you can get an electric one that's smaller and makes the same noises without needing a tuneup every few years - which can cost half the price of the one she bought...at least where we live.

Huge relief. Actually did better than expected, but not nearly what I could have gotten a few years ago.

Not sure if I want to go the house route again. Looking at a couple of condos downtown. My commute would be a pedway, and the MTS centre is across the street. Go Jets!  ;D

I know the area he lives in, you'll be about a 5 minute drive away.  Too close, TBH.

I'm actually house sitting for him while he's in India.

It's kind of a shame about the cats. I'm pretty sure he won't notice the replacements.  ;D
