Friend of mine just replaced his '15 F-150 3.5 EB with a nearly identical '18 2.7 EB. Looking forward to taking it for a spin.
Why would he flip it so early  ??

He leases. He had his '14 for just 13 months before getting into the '15.

Supremes blown it again.  The constitution's section 121 overridden just to save the provinces booze revenue.   I think it would be a great improvement to Canada if the Feds declared the SoC ruling wrong and the actual words in the constitution correct. Not just for liquor sales but all the other effects of such a ruling.

What I was hoping they would do is rule in favor of the 'product of' part of the constitution.  As in, you shouldn't be able to buy American beer, or south African wine in Quebec, and bring it to NB, but you should be able to buy something actually produced in Quebec and bring it to NB.

Our car is coming up on 30k km.  That means an oil change and a new fuel filter.   I am also going to get them to swap out the winter wheels.

I'll get it done at the dealer because their rates really aren't that bad.  $100 for the oil change $100 for the fuel filter (which is a bit much, I'll eventually just do it myself. The filter is $40+) and $40 for the change over.

Lady on the phone:  Do you want to go for our service package then?

Me: How much is it?

Lady: Hmmmm, that will come to $405 + taxes

Me: Yeah, that's way too much.

The service package included a whole assortment of inspections that came to an extra $150.

Fuel filter already?  Did you hit the mileage or the time interval first?

The change interval for the diesel fuel filter is every 30k km.  It's strictly mileage based.

They basically reaffirmed the court's ruling from 1921. I don't think it was a huge surprise, though maybe the unanimous part might have been.

I have to agree it wasn't a surprise. The conspiracy theorists will say that the Supremes were told by the Feds that any other ruling would be destructive of Confederation. Unlikely I think.  But I happen to believe that the original framers of the constitution/Confederation  gave the provinces too much power and that was the original mistake. Trudeau Sr had a chance to fix that and chickened out.
The Supremes could easily just have said that they were wrong in 1921 and the original wording was correct. The governments could have then held a meeting and passed a change to that section and that would have been ok. But for some reason the Feds are frightened to open the constitution...probably they think PQ will want more and maybe they think they would be heavily pressured to give the natives more.
Oh well.

The original BNA had a much stronger federal government, but rulings much later on by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council devolved some of the federal powers to the provinces, which really made a bodge of things.

Which PET could have fixed  in '81.  The SoC told him he could change the constitution and repatriate it without provincial consent, but that he really should not so do. And he didn't.

Apparently there was just some type of large(ish) natural event out my way.  IQ said it was rather large, shook the house and sounded like thunder....but much more robust.  It was so significant, she said she could feel the vibration in her body cavity while laying on our memory foam mattress.  Things rattled in the house.

Earthquake, maybe?  There are fault lines in Lake Erie....
